Is there any chance to die?
Have you never been shot by flak?
True…
AAB actually has bombers be somewhat meaningful, even though you still get shredded in them a decent amount.
At least AAB AI gunners have brains, though…
So you fly over lots of flak only relying on luck. Sounds pretty annoying.
Relying on altitude and being prepared to drop your bombs so you can be out of flak range before it gets a hit.
Beyond flak I specifically mentioned flying in formation as Gaijin can very easily program AI fighters to strafe you, or at least I fail to see why they wouldn’t be able to.
Which sucks still because the SPAA aimbots without RWR warning and the Rolands outrange anything wire guided. Plus the convoys are so offset from where the game says they are.
And you’re never going to achieve that in a gamemode like ARB which does not have (and likely never will) have respawns. Air RB EC would be a far better fit for attackers and bombers.
That is a claim. Now you would have to provide some reasons as to why this is so. Because you do have many ways of control. Already, there can be at most 4 bombers. Already, planes can change loadout.
I am not against changing air RB, just against splitting it up.
Outside of low tier - where for example, a single Ju88 A or He 111 H3 can solo several bases and still damage the airfield a little, guaranteeing that a second good bomber or a return trip will end the match… I have never seen a game decided by a bomber’s contribution.
If they spaceclimb or camp the airfield sure, sometimes they’ll win on tickets, but that is both rare and an asshole tactic.
To put it simply, Air RB is primarily a TDM mode. No other playstyle is as effective at getting wins, so aircraft unsuited to TDMs will always do poorly - this is the vast majority of attackers and bombers.
Air RB already has a more than big enough playerbase to support two modes. Air RB EC would benefit attackers and bombers greatly as they would have much more space to play with, and not being able to win by running the enemy team out of planes would greatly increase their usefulness - because ground strike would become a necessity.
And just having Air RB EC would also increase the playerbase of Air RB in general because it could serve more players’ interests.
That argument won’t go far in a world where software can be altered.
Except we don’t need to split the mode. We need to change the existing one, put the obnoxious and selfish fighter mains in their place, and make proper room to fit nonfighters in the mode.
The solution, as I said in another thread, is simply making each objective no longer able to end the round by itself. Remove all continuous autowin bleeds.
-
All player aircraft and AI Attackers are worth 50% of the tickets.
-
All AI ground units are worth 50% of the tickets.
-
Disable base respawning and increase total number of bases, the total number of those (minimum 8, up to as many as 10 or even 16) being worth 50% of the tickets.
The only goal is to kill enough of the opposing force to make them give up the fight. One objective where all planes’ efforts stack together to favor teamwork, instead of three objectives competing with each other where the less-efficient machines are seen as a nuisance.
