I’ve been playing War Thunder for over 10 years, I still can’t understand the use of anti-aircraft, especially in 10 to 12.0.
They are really useless except to fill a tree.
I take as an example fighters such as S-34, F-16, Rafale, Mirage, JAS39 apart from several batteries of Pantsir, Flarakarad or HQ 17, you really have to be naive to believe that a single anti-aircraft could neutralize or even slow down attack planes that have countermeasures and some of which attack you from behind.
This is what I propose, an enlargement of the map only for those who evolve with anti-aircraft of a few meters or otherwise more efficient radars as well as recalibrated missiles to intercept them a little more easily. We are a democracy, all proposals are good to take.
I really invite modders to think about this because when you have a Rafale and a SU-34 that annihilate six combat tanks in a dive, you prefer to immediately stop playing.
They have an advantage, it is that of observing you from the sky.
My last three games ended in defeats in just over two minutes. The opponents came with a JAS39, a Rafale, a SU34 and a Mirage 2000, they blasted us.
Therefore, there is no more fun in playing War Thunder and that is my opinion.
this isn’t realistic but I think it would be cool if they had a system with stationary AA placed a little further behind the field to where players could take control of them, similarly to a tank, just not on the battlefield… It would definitely be much different than this but just as a starter i’d like to see systems like the S-300 and Patriot enter war thunder
Excellent suggestion. It’s unplayable especially since the arrival of the Rafale and the SU-34, it’s become hell.
At least allowing the DCA batteries to evolve in height would be a good start.
Regarding “recalibrated missiles” or “more efficient radars”, these are only possible as per reality. If you believe a vehicle is unrealistically modeled, submit a bug report.
I agree that maps should be expanded as a whole. One of the problems with top tier SPAA is their vulnerability to ground targets, due to maps simply being too small. Another is the easy detection and destruction that usually ensues when SPAA are forced to sit in spawn (which happens on many maps).
You have to improvise and position the AA in areas where they will no longer be vulnerable.
A helicopter or a fighter bomber will not bother to have a clear field, it will immediately target the spawn to get rid of the anti-aircraft, it is a spontaneous defensive act.
So I suggest installing the AA on heights or expanding the Map only for AA users.
For me, the funniest part in toptier is using CAS to get 6 combats or shot down the enemy’s CAS plane before they launch the missiles, SPAA could never replace the position of fighters, when you expect better SPAA, then will get better CAS, bad cycle
Yep CAS being much easier for new players makes it also frustrating for ground players. No matter how good you are you’ll still experience some child revenge bombing ruining your game experience I will say this probably until this game collapses they need to remove CAS.
Yes, that’s my favorite part, especially when revenge for those full down-tier tanks or campers, when suffering bomb, just bomb them back and over again, sometimes I even think they need strength CAS and planes even drop the SP cost, only play ground is like a stupid kind of stubbornness.
Yeah early on I thought cas was dumb then realized I needed to play cas or I wouldn’t get nearly as many kills… I mean now I average 3 kills per cas run that would have been such a missed opportunity for me.
