A heads up on a bug with multipathing/ground terrain on Vietnam

the Vietnam air map currently has massive issues with dying to invisible terrain/objects that are either not rendering or aren’t there to begin with, it’s specifically an issue with this map. Just letting people know in case they are wondering why they are dying randomly while trying to multipath

( I searched for another thread on this and couldn’t find anything)

I’ve had the same thing happen a couple of times. Specific spots+replays would be good, so someone could make a bug report about it.

Its secret vietcong anti-air defences, didnt you know? Smh.

I think it is because the tree are not modeled correctly , this has been an issue for quite a while. I guess they broke it even more with the new update

Keep it as it is and learn to Notch and not abuse multipathing ( which is heavily buffed compared to real life)

Keep it as it is…? You’re suggesting to keep invisible terrain into the game because… you don’t like multipathing? I also know how to notch… learn to use every tool at your disposal instead of acting like MP doesn’t exist in WT

no, fix the trees
letting terrain in game stay objectively bugged and broken because you dont personally like a mechanic it’s tied with is dumb

especially when I show in the clip I just posted that it’s not that I can’t notch, it’s that I’m just using all the tools at my disposal lol

yeah
people can have their opinions on MP but “just let the trees stay bugged” is a bad one imo

Your argument, if it is one at all, is pointless, because this problem effects all BRs.
So think about groundpounding and crashing while flying near the ground but definitly above all rendered objects.
This is a problem over years not only on a single map.

Fix the trees and remove multipathing

There is zero reason to remove MP besides to cater to larpers

Multipathing only exists so the people who liked IRCCM fox 2 gameplay can pretend to be “Le sKIlLeD dOgfIgHTerS” despite the game moving into an era where BVR should be 100 percent dominant.

MP exists so that multiple playstyles can be valid instead of every match being played out the exact same way. I suggest you stop complaining about your missiles not hitting people. You should also stop acting like WT adheres to IRL tactics at ANY given BR from 1.0 to 13.7

IRL tactics work perfectly fine up until advanced radar missiles, Boom and zoom is a functional technique when you are fighting something that you cannot keep up with in a turn fight. Multipath simply allows highly maneuverable HOBs slingers to safely push into the face of a missile truck and force them into a fight they will lose, with near immunity to the radar missiles being launched at them.

Irrelevant , this is a game

lol air RB does not resemble irl in any shape fashion or form

Bnz is not comparable to multipathing, bnz is a macro strategy and MPing is a micro strategy, none of this matters anyway because you’re missing the point that just because you think MPing is unrealistic doesn’t mean it doesn’t belong in game since it betters the game.

Yes, in exchange for shitty macro positioning and high likelyhood of IR missile intercepts. There are pros and cons to any strategy but you’re not willing to adapt.

Fly the missile truck up high enough to where the ultramegasuperdogfighter cant engage you without getting out of mp height and then hit him in the face with a radar missile when he tries to come up by using your range advantage, simple as
Heck, if you fire them from high enough the missile already overcomes the mp effect

No shit, this doesn’t change the fact that irl BFM tactics still work just fine.

Bnz and energy fighting are tactics used by inferior manuevering aircraft to fight on thier own terms against their opponents.

Frontal aspect pre-flaring almost always prevents head on fox 2 launches from connecting, once they are past the merge the fighter with the highest AoA and the most maneuverable fox 2’s will win the vast majority of engagements.

This can work to an extent yes, but if you cannot find them on radar and they sneak up underneath you (which is as simple as looking for contrails), you are toast lmao, even at mach 2.2 at 10km you are not immune to lower alt fox 3 launches.

I’ve had more than a few instances of nearly vertical top down fox 3 shots still being defeated by multipath.
