MiG-29M/K basically to my knowledge have the old release MiG-29 apex predators FM where the release 29 used to out rate the F-16. Haven’t played either yet to verify

Ah so they just caved into people being mad that the Mig-29 is a poor fighter something that has been documented throughout history and are allowing it to have a voodoo airframe again? Seriously some people need to read the reports from the pilots who fought these things in germany after the wall fell where the said things like “was limited to 3G’s of pulling with a fuel tank” and “when dogfighting it was so lack luster in pull on the f-16 that it made the jets HOBS system which should be dangerous unable to be effectively used”
I think the f5c is a good enough platform that yes the average base bombing F5C is going to murder the average base bombing A5c player.
Tbf, F-5A/Cs can reach mach 1 but doesn’t often punch past mach 1.05 unless at high alt straight line flying either. As far as I’ve fought against crusaders, they haven’t been fast either since iirc one if them still rips their wings turning at compressed speeds. Mig-21s are faster yeah but god forbid your energy retention existing after a turn.
Pilot anecdote isn’t very useful. You can find other pilots saying the opposite and that the 29 was a great dogfighter. It really does not matter. Me, you, and everyone else on this forum are basically 99% ignorant to how these aircraft actually function in real life.
As far as the GAME is concerned, it was a good change that made the 29 worth playing where as it wasn’t worth playing before.
For one, i find the “you must play/buy X plane to have speaking authority on it” kinda disingenuous. Do i have to buy A-10s to know they’re complete garbage that relies on their 9L downtiers to get kills? Do i need to buy MKKs to know they’re the most broken 13.3 in the game?
Besides, i never said it was better than the F-5C. I only said some qualities of it were, such as the rate, engines, and missiles.

When you have experience in SIMILAR planes… sure… you have never played any Q-5
That’s like saying i must play the J-15T to know it’s complete hot garbage.
A-5C is worse than pretty much every 10.7 main fighter, only upsides are high thrust and 2 magics when other jets at your BR have 4 PL-5B or similar loads that are better or equivalent while also not having garbage compression or top speed
A-5C’s entire goal in a fight is to out energy or 2 circle you, both of which are extremely prone to being third partied at jet BRs. It’s not effective.
Welcome to the life of the rat fighter, where any solo 1v1 opens you up to getting mogged by a 3rd party. Though again, J-7D is undertiered. If anything that plane should go up.
But it just can’t go down because this boat still technically mogs lower br planes in a 1v1 fight (except other mig-19s), and gaijin looks at those to justify br placement.
I personally think its a sidegrade to the mirage 3E. Same 2 magics. Less cms. Better fm and engine. The 530s are interesting and all but even at 10.0 it was a one trick pony that kills inattentive players or those without rwr. In my hundreds of kills from playing both shahak and mirage 3C, 530s were maximum like 1-2/10 kills. Most were with the guns and IR missiles.
A-5C/Mig-19 are essencially soft locked to transonic speeds at low altitudes, like the Crusaders, for example.
But the A-5C can easily make distance in a climb while maintaining near-transonic speeds where the F-5C/ F-5E will just lose speed.
With a lone F-5C you have an easy dogfight, but if the F-5C doesn’t commit, he is essentially untouchable if he keeps speed. Mig-19/A-5C high speed compression and poor roll rate are easy to abuse in defensive flight.
