7.3 japan problem

Its arguably the best 7.3, the main competition being T32. It would be better than a majority of 7.7s as well.

HoRI could be penetrated by 76mm and 37mm guns; the armor protection is not perfect

That is often the case, but I do think the SP cost of the Zunis could stand to go up. I’ve been running it at 7.7 with the type 87RCV(p) and it’s ridiculous how easy it is to spawn it with the Zuni pods.
I think 7.7 with a Zuni SP cost increase would be fair.

from 8.0 it would be seeing the VT/AHEAD SPAAGs with stealth belts that would render it unplayable

Not what I said.

Which nobody should ever shoot, same with Tiger 2 UFP.

30mm, and at a lower BR.

Like above, you should not be shooting the enemy’s strong spots.

That’s your argument.

That’s also your argument.

I already spaded and stopped playing it. The plane is ass and I’m not flying it again.

I don’t see the “kill shot” here, given that the gunner is still alive and he can shoot back.

After you started this by bringing up my stats, it’s my turn.

The only logical reason why you’re so hung up on the Ho-Ri’s UFP is that, evidenced by you having nearly 1000 games in just the premium Tiger 2 but barely scraping past 2KD, is that you love aiming center mass and the Ho-Ri spoils your fun.

Which is why you made such a big fuss over players needing to know weakspots, and implied they shouldn’t need to:

What is a mangled wreck supposed to show?

I personally watched several of my Zunis fail to overpressure tanks on direct impacts, and “near misses” resulted in only track damage almost every time unless it was an open top.

Good thing both are 7.3 then. Can you imagine facing a T34 in a Tiger 1?

“Fantastic armor” and every 6.7 heavy can pen it frontally lol

Great mobility until you need to reverse or turn without also driving forward.

The gun is good though.

Actual 7.7s vs Ho-Ri:

Ho-Ri vs them:
*the penetrable area is larger as the green spots do not show the area behind exhausts, and almost the entire mantlet is penetrable

Before complaining L39 over and over again, show me how to use normal cas against these:

You die basically lol

7.3 is a black hole of undertiered radar SPAA mostly preventing any combined arms gameplay

I can’t imagine these “ground” players just complaining when they find anything that can destroy them, even though they have tons of vehicles to defend, they have totally destroy the whole CAS system, the next step is to destroy CAS, Gaijin is too prefer such kind of players…

That’s literally why this thread was created. Someone got killed by Ho-Ri + L-39 ART combo, failed to exploit any of the myriad of weaknesses they have, and came here to cope about it.

Also, I was looking just now and there ARE ways to take out these radar SPAAs! You just have to play an actually good nation (not one of those stinky minor ones) and also hope they don’t actually move.

*the export F-84Gs in other trees don’t have the bomb computer lol

EDIT: almost forgot, just go buy the MB-326B.

Kinda?

It’s a bit of a hard call. The Ho-Ri is preferentially limited to longer range hulldown sniping, but if it’s played carefully it can work as a brawler or flanker, map dependant. If anyone realises you’re there, they can punish you pretty easily if they have any other friendlies to work with. But given the quality of the average War Thunder team, you can get a lot done by just hitting the flanks and playing aggressively, as a lot of people just panic when they see this thing lunging at them from around a corner.

It is far more sensitive to uptiers, however. At anything really above 8.0, it’s armor really stops being effective, and it’s lack of a high pen round limits it against a lot of fairly common tanks. Even the later, stabilized T-55s can prove to be an issue on equal footing.

Although it’s worth pointing out, a Ho-Ri doesn’t need to be uptiered to end up kinda stuck. A Ho-Ri has basically no chance against a Jagdtiger in a 1v1 at range.

The most notable match in my Ho Ri was on Hurtgen Forest, A only in the river.
I didn’t want to spawn my M47 despite it being the objectively better option, so I spawned my Ho Ri intending to rush in and lose my crew… cause you know, the map is full of flanks.

What happened instead is I got 8 - 10 frags while at A… alone, with my team behind me on their own hill.
Saw plenty of tanks flanking left & right, and they just… didn’t know I was there.

Ultimately died to an M46 cause HEATFS wrecks, and I couldn’t see them in time.
Overall amazing match, ended up winning as I did bring M47 as my 2nd spawn, and my team just flat out ran it better.

They will say it doesn’t have CCIP, and then don’t know how to play it XD

At 6.7 you certainly won’t need CCIP! Only thing better is A-1H at 6.3 with 40 Zunis.

Never believe normal CAS players, the only thing they can do is kamikaze XD

Hold on, hold on hold on hold on. Im hung up on this.

In this game about armoured vehicles, you here are saying that it is unfair that an armoured vehicle has armour and that you should not have to adjust your strategy when engaging that armoured vehicle in order to defeat that armour, rathee than simply aim center mass at it?

In a game designed entirely about armoured vehicles with gameplay intentionally providing armour and mechanics to make shells fail to penetrate?

And you are complaining about one of only two japanese vehicles in the tech tree that actually have enough armour to reliably defend against equal tier opponents?

I havent even started researching the L39 yet, nor played a game with/against one so I cant comment on it or what BR it should be to be honest. But on the A1-H at least, I think its full load of 40 Zunis makes it like 750sp? Been a minute since Ive played it so cant remember the exact cost.

From memory it is the most expensive loadout to spawn in that plane at least, but as I said unsure if the cost is different for the L39.

I will say that I was pretty glad when I saw the previews showing that Japan would get a useful CAS plane in that BR range. Theres nothing really useful to go with your 7.3 lineup, Ive been using the F-84 at 7.7 a lot and just uptiering my ground lineup, because every plane below that you could use is hopelessly outclassed.

So raising the L39 which was added to fill that gap to 7.7 would suck. Id rather they just removed the CCIP and kept it 7.3 to be honest.

It would have to go much lower. CCIP is the only good thing about that plane.

The Skyraider is a better platform, with more than twice as many Zunis, and that’s 6.3. This flying garbage can would have to be 6.0 at most.

Well if the cannon is worse, the armor is worse too isn’t it worse?

Let’s see what could this possibly mean your either saying

  1. That the Ho-Ri is 30mm weaker then the ferdinand and at a lower BR

OR

  1. That the ferdinand is 30mm weaker and at a lower BR

Only case that would make sense is 2 but that would be hypocritical.

You should be shooting where you can pen.

Denounces his claims

Ass plane is the one with 4 k/d and 82% win rate

Example that you can pen the ferdihand there, in any low crew scenario it would be dead.

Should i compile a long list of how many vehicle you have below 2KD? i think we both know shaming 2.6K/D is kinda hypocritical from your perceptive, Especially since you demanded experience and then attacked it instance it was revealed.

Welds are weak?

Or your going to play dumb

I am not arguing towards that, I’m arguing that penetration isn’t subjective or “deserved,” ballistics is physics, not opinion. And even if I was, I’d still be correct: the real Ho-Ri never left the design stage. No steel prototype was ever completed, all that ever existed was a wooden mockup and a gun that got tested on its own.

Your forgetting about the Heavy Tank No.6 (Japan) | War Thunder Wiki, When did i complain about the Ho-Ri my goal post is that the Ho-Ri does have better armor then the ferdihand

The cannon is a small upgrade. The mobility is (mostly) a huge one, as long as you only need to move forward.

Which is not what you keep talking about:

Tiger 2 UFP is just as strong as Ho-Ri’s, when is that one going to 7.7?

It’s called “being good at the game”. Even my poor Chi-Ri is 3:1. I just got an 8 kill win game with that thing like two matches ago.

Also I just checked, my D4Y3 Suisei is like 5:1 against tanks specifically. And that thing’s a better fighter than the L-39 will ever be. Will you write a cope post about it next?

I don’t have tanks with nearly 1000 games played.

Like many players, you have a lot of experience at not being very good it seems.

And physics dictate that if your APHE hell hits an armor plate configured like the Ho-Ri’s UFP, it will bounce every time.

So stop aiming there.

Wrong.

What’s a ferdihand mean man?

What tabk are you shooting with ? Is-2 ? You know that you don’t find any tank with <230mm pen at 7.3, right ?
Unless you play a tank with a trash barrel and then say it’s the enemy that’s too good, it’s like crying because you can’t pen a Tiger II while playing T-44.

Kh-38 MT, easy
