5.7 is only uptiers

Anyone else notice that 5.7 only seems to get uptiers these days? Same with 4.0 and 3.3 at least for me.

Depends on the nation, the game will try to pull you to more populated BR’s. So play a minor nation and you’re more likely to be pulled into nations that the game prefers to play with. Japan air at top tier almost always plays with america so its constant uptiers where japan doesnt have something.

Yeah, trying to play USSR IS-1 against Chinese IS2’s and tiger II’s isn’t fun.

I like to play Britain 5.3 and it’s constant suffering, I mostly get uptiered to 5.7 or 6.0 against Germany + Russia and when I try playing 6.3 I almost never get below 6.7 (sometimes I get 6.3 or 6.0 if I’m really lucky but these only happen every 150 games or so)

its same for USA Germany and Ussr, all 5.7s it seems to me

Yup 4.7 and 5.7 are perma max uptiers for me when playing Germany. I can’t remember a max downtier in a while. Then I tried 6.7 and same again. 7.7 same. But with some minor nations better luck at 7.7.

7.7 feels just as cursed.

Idk depends on my nation, so far my luck with germany and the M48 has been amazing, its almost constant downtiers and i love the M48 in a full downtier

People REALLY don’t understand what upteirs are.

in 5.7, is 6.0 an upteir? 6.3? If so, then only a FULL DOWTEIR is not an upteir.

In every game, only 4 ppl on each team are the max BR. So most of the people in the game are ‘upteired’.

Then lets go over what exists at 4.7 and 5.0. For most nations, crap. Utter garbage vehicles. Of course people aren’t going to be playing those. No one wants to be playing ~110 pen guns vs tigers and panthers.

Then you have the black hole of german 6.0. Tons of the ‘iconic’ german vehicles are sitting at that BR and lots of newer players just rush to those and play only panthers and tigers. That means 6.0 is a super common br and games form around that core. That means 6.3 and 6.7 games are going to be common as all of those 6.0 vehicles aren’t going to be top teir every game.

That means certain BR clusters are far more favored. 5.3 and 7.3 are both going to see a lot of mid games with very few upteirs.

I’ve always thought of it as a full/partial uptier, and a full/partial downtier. A 5.7 in a 5.0-6.0 game is downtiered, and not uptiered.

None of this would be as big a problem if they would only reduce the BR range of a typical match by .3.

Oh don’t kid yourself. people would still complain. You would also have to rebalance a HUGE quantity of heavies to deal with the new br range where their armor would be more effective.

I always look at spawn costs at the start; no matter what, 100 sp is a full uptier. About every match I play these days around 5.7~5.0 is an uptier as I always have 100sp spawn cost, same with 4.0, 4.7, 4.3. But this is all in my experience; which was the whole point of this discussion, to see if others have been feeling the same :p

I’ve always said about the 5.7 compared to the 5.3 giving upteirs more because of the .4 difference compared to the .3 between the .7 .0 .3 BRs.

Whilst it’s just anecdotal, it’s a common thing, and why I limit myself to the .3s to make for the downteirs/normalteirs.

I’ve killed a couple of tiger H1’s in a 57 mod.

If you play all the countries, you can just zero-death leave a match as soon as you see the cost of your highest BR medium tank is only 100SP. (This tells you you’re at the bottom BR for this match) You need to play more than one or two countries, though, or risk a lot of waiting.

I play USA, USSR, Germany.
Also source or anecdote?

Currently only 2.3, 4.3, 7.3 and 9.0 seem to have a balanced uptier/downtier ratio.

You need to pick a BR that’s 1.3 lower than the most popular BR in this range to have it pull the tanks you would face up.

10.3 is probably the most spammed BR and absolutely ruins 9.3 and above matchmaker.
