If you hit center mass, you basically hit the ammo. Zerst gets trickier if it gets lower on ammo indeed, but most of my encounters are 1-shots.
My plane of choice for 6.3 is Yak-9UT as it is much faster than 9K and still capable of winning dogfights vs almost anything in German and US tree.
If I somehow only disable the gunner on Zerst, I go for quick strafe with Shvak.
But in general, I find Zerst very easy to kill.
M19 on the other hand… Oh god, that thing sits at lower BR, but it is a damage sponge.
Zerst? Nope, because it has these nice ammo boxes on the floor.
For whatever reason, it doesn’t.
I just keep killing the crew.
I also have a horrible track record of killing these thins with tanks. I mean “hey, I will surely hit the ammo, no need to switch to HE” -><proceeds to fire 4 shots while increasingly frustrated that eventually kill everyone>.
So I seriously don’t know.
Ostwind/Wirbel usually fuses the shell just fine as 45mm APHE is really sensitive.
OBJECTIVELY 4 fast firing MK103 with fast reload > 1 RH202/ 2 23mm ZU with monthly reload
OBJECTIVELY heavily armored Kugel is better to oppose air attacking you than cardboard box that gets slapped with HVAR hitting close to it
No as you need 1 20mm hit to demolish an aircraft. Maybe 2. In such case fire density and ballistics far outweight the sheer volume and caliber.
If Zerst’s armanent actually made a difference, I’d maybe review my opinions.
But I find 20mm equally deadly as quad 30mm - if it hits you, you’re dead. And 20mm is just more likely to hit.
341 can die to Yak’s cannon if it hits correctly. The saving grace is the sheer firepower (with no reload or cooldown) of the 341 which just decimates the Yak. Only CAS I have to worry about in 341 is that damn MB-326B and its Zuni rockets. It’s just so much more dangerous than the prop zuni slingers.
Agreed. And the Praga is overrated against ground due to the HVAP shell.
