5.3-6.7 SPAA balance is pretty bad

If you hit center mass, you basically hit the ammo. Zerst gets trickier if it gets lower on ammo indeed, but most of my encounters are 1-shots.
My plane of choice for 6.3 is Yak-9UT as it is much faster than 9K and still capable of winning dogfights vs almost anything in German and US tree.
If I somehow only disable the gunner on Zerst, I go for quick strafe with Shvak.

But in general, I find Zerst very easy to kill.

M19 on the other hand… Oh god, that thing sits at lower BR, but it is a damage sponge.
Zerst? Nope, because it has these nice ammo boxes on the floor.

AIM for turret, full of ammo that loves to detonate

Its viable for Wirbelwinds to hit the hull, yes. Turret shots arent reliable

funny enough, i have ZERO troubles with M19 on Yak-9k xD
I usually oneshot it as i aim for the gunner, and the gunner has ammo under his shoulders

For whatever reason, it doesn’t.
I just keep killing the crew.

I also have a horrible track record of killing these thins with tanks. I mean “hey, I will surely hit the ammo, no need to switch to HE” -><proceeds to fire 4 shots while increasingly frustrated that eventually kill everyone>.
So I seriously don’t know.

Ostwind/Wirbel usually fuses the shell just fine as 45mm APHE is really sensitive.

The Zerstörer gets absolutely destroyed by fast firing cannons or machine guns.

Its design makes it inherently less vulnerable to the 45mm APHE which explodes inside the vehicle.

But that’s irrelevant when it’s more vulnerable to all types of planes.

Why do you even need to ask? 😩
I already told you „OBJECTIVELY“.

It’s when you don’t look at how you experience it but how everyone in general does.

Your personal experience brings little into the discussion because, guess what, there a thousands of other people.

Also experience can constantly change just by random factors, like how good your team or enemies are or whether you face up or down tiers.

There are objectively two ways to destroy an SPAA with guns, while minimizing risk:

  • Attack when the SPAA isn’t targeting you
  • Attack outside the SPAAs own effective range

And a 45mm APHE can still penetrate and kill most SPAAs even from 1km or more.

Of course there are only a few planes with 45mm guns.

So I‘m not sure whether this is really that important for the discussion.

Loofahs ability to kill planes or SPAAs probably also doesn’t reflect how most players will be able to it.

“Your personal experience isn’t objective, only my personal experience is objective.”

OBJECTIVELY 4 fast firing MK103 with fast reload > 1 RH202/ 2 23mm ZU with monthly reload
OBJECTIVELY heavily armored Kugel is better to oppose air attacking you than cardboard box that gets slapped with HVAR hitting close to it

And everything other is my experience.

It is how it is

No as you need 1 20mm hit to demolish an aircraft. Maybe 2. In such case fire density and ballistics far outweight the sheer volume and caliber.

If Zerst’s armanent actually made a difference, I’d maybe review my opinions.
But I find 20mm equally deadly as quad 30mm - if it hits you, you’re dead. And 20mm is just more likely to hit.

More cannons = more spread = less accuracy needed to hit a plane. Ballistics are also very important but not when you cant hit a plane.

341 can die to Yak’s cannon if it hits correctly. The saving grace is the sheer firepower (with no reload or cooldown) of the 341 which just decimates the Yak. Only CAS I have to worry about in 341 is that damn MB-326B and its Zuni rockets. It’s just so much more dangerous than the prop zuni slingers.

Agreed. And the Praga is overrated against ground due to the HVAP shell.

I was referring to this:

The only trouble with the 45mm is killing the Zerstörer 45. Since the crew is already exposed.

Yeah, while I scored quite a few 1-shots, it indeed seems like Zerstörer requires multiple shots quite often.
