35mm SPAAs ultra deserved nerf

this

U SERIOUS
that makes quite a lot of sense.
i thought the only german guy i knew well was my squadron’s leader.

so Invenio/Tektonik is basically the library of primary sources for german military data?

its the german archives

there is alot of documents in there and not all are avaiable to the public/ on the internet

Effectiveness against helicopters isn’t a problem, effectiveness against [fixed-wing] aircraft is. However, the rest of the thread is taking advantage of your exaggeration to categorically deny SPAA is OP, which is where they are wrong. To clarify on helicopters specifically:

  • Helicopters (most) have guided weapons at their disposal, so are generally better against SPAA than aircraft in the 8.0-9.0 range.
  • 4km range missile equipped helicopters are very effective against the Gepard-ish SPAAGs (35mm plus the AMX-30S DCA, minus PGZ09);
  • 3km and lower range missile equipped helis are generally balanced against these SPAA
  • M247, at 9.0, is the only SPAAG which is severely overpowered against helis, due to the high TNT content shells with proxy fuze.
  • It is nearly impossible to win in a helicopter with <=4 kilometre range missiles against a skilled M247 player.
  • AHEAD shells are not as great as you think. They are more of a sidegrade than an upgrade, with the main advantage being the lack of tracer, not the effectiveness of the shell in other respects.
  • Unlike HE-VT, AHEAD shells only spray shrapnel in a narrow forward-facing cone. Their damage is also inconsistent.

you’re shooting, at an AI. That isn’t doing anything to avoid your shots.

yeah its incredibly easy to dodge a gepard past 3km

apparently ur not aware that 35mm doesn’t reach 6km

you of all people asking

Pretty much, yes.
The fragment distribution occurs from 0° to 12°.

The current count of fragments found in ABM/KE-TF rounds, such as PMC308(30x173) and PMD062 (35x228) is either 32 or 64 (still need to test how the modifier works with custom units) either way, the amount is far too low compared to what it should be;

152 fragments, a 3.3g (tungsten-alloy) for PMD062
162 fragments, a 1.24g (as above) for PMC308

Spoiler: Related Rheinmetall Brochures

Afaik there still is an open (but atleast forwarded) report on PMC308 but I have no clue whether anyone ever bothered reporting it for PGZ09 (35x228 PMD062)

The search tags kinda suck to be fair, I have issues finding the invenio site when explicitly searching for it aswell.

Ig easiest way is to just bookmark it.
https://invenio.bundesarchiv.de/invenio/
Otherwise you can look up manufacturers and go through archived websites (atleast for the more modern vehicles)

Otherwise, there are some great collections in;

https://archive.org/details/militarymagazines

SmallArmsReview website archive is also amazing for OEM brochures but they messed up their certificates so it is inaccessible currently.

what AHEAD 35mm is 8.3 ?

Just out of curiosity is there documents about marinefliegers

Are you hard in hearing?
Gepards cant use AHEAD, you cant give them the round and have them increase in br cause of that.

Considering nearly every nation has a gepard version.
Yes I have, its not hard dodging cannon spaas at 4km.

Gepard, weren’t u talking about it?

I have decided to play the Gepard in a Solo lineup and apart from farming +4 ground kills from time to time, i was very able of annihilating everything at 3km.
This sounds like ragebait from ur part.

I have way worse ones.

there is over a thousnad mentions of “Marinefliger” in the german archives because it basically means Naval Plane and isnt specific to any singular aircraft
