Spoiler
in the early 2000s Sukhoi decided they wanted to create a new export moderation program for their Su-27SKs wanting it to be a equivalent to the Su-27SM made for the Russian aerospace forces, adding multi role capability with the ability to use precision guided munitions. With the first and only demonstrator prototype having been built in 2003 by converting the only Su-30KI prototype, With the brand new prototype being called the Su-27SKM and receiving the air frame number gray 305.
