You think anything Soviet would be good at higher brs. It’s fine as is, napalm doesn’t need rebalancing either.
You should be asking for a better rewards system instead

It’s not really an issue with BR. It’s an issue with the reward system and unskilled players gravitating towards bombing in dedicated fighters/interceptors.
Unless Gaijin does much needed reworks to the objective system or at least the basebombing mechanic then the issue will persist no matter how high or low you place these premiums. And I agree, it’s super annoying to see.
Not really.
Napalm enables fighters to carry a proportionally small loadout to destroy a base where comprable strike aircraft or fighter bombers that might not have even have napalm have to carry vastly more to achieve the same result
It would level the playing field greatly, even if they only re-adjusted napalm to do 50% less damage than it does now and they weighted the damage far more on the “damage over time” effect rather than initial impact.
That way a fighter would have to drop 3x Napalm bombs instead of just 2 and rather than it bringing the base down to 25% HP and the last 25% going in a few seconds from tick damage, it would only drop down maybe 20-25% (same amount that 2x 500lb bombs would) and the remaining 75-80% would burn down over the next minute or so.
If someone else gets hits in then the base kill is shared, if not then they still get the kill.
The fact that 2x Napalm bombs does the same damage as 4x 1000lb but wieght less than 2x 1000lb is rather stupid, especially as the 4x 1000lbs wont even necessarily kill the base but the 2x Napalm will.
What we need now is this thread:
that never appeared.
But the fact the Mig-23ML which even hauling 2x R-24Ts and 2x Napalm bombs, is faster, more agile and can do more damage in A2A combat than a Tornado IDS which is the same BR hauling 2x Aim-9L and 5-6x 1000lb bombs is rather dumb
I did a comparison of fighters vs supersonic strike aircraft, and on average strike aircraft are faster.
Including strike aircraft with bombs, as F-4S with napalm is slower than Tornado Mk103s with a base of bombs.
Mig-23MLs are not agile, you’re thinking of the MLD with an improved leading edge.
Rank V+ gameplay loop is basically awful, lobbies too large when the game grows into missiles, maps to streamlined so everything is concentrated in one relatively small area against the scale of the map, little to no advice from the game side on how to effectively avoid radar missiles which start to be quite good around the 23MLs BR and finally the BRs themselves are a mess.
People are just going for the free RP on the table, which makes everything worse when the two teams are badly mismatched because most of one teams fighters are larping as bombers.
I cannot wait for Phantoms and F-18s to be moved up to 13.0+
lol thats never happening, US players are too bad for that to be a reality
There is an easy solution: lower the reward if you bomb with an interceptor and increase it if you do it with a bomber or attack aircraft
I, for the best of me, cant think of any strike aircraft that would be harmed by that more than fighters, except for maybe the su25 and A5/Q5. If i think about napalm bombers i think F104, F4S, F16, nowadays also F15, Mig21, Mig23.
I think thats sort of already the case, mig 23 gets like 672? Or something for a base, su25 gets 1004 with 2 napalm loadout, something like 450 with 6 napalm loadout per base.
Numbers being score which reflects rewards.
Give 100 per base to the Mig-23, Mig-21 and other interceptors for destroying bases and you’ll see how quickly they’ll stop doing it.
Yeah but too bad most of the premium top tier are fighter. That would def be one of the better way to fix it but knowing gaijin it not gonna happen
Or just stop whining about people bombing? God forbid people grind in this game.
In a interceptor, nobody talks about multirole, attackers or bombers. You grind way faster with air kills…
Eh, bombing a base always grants exp. Trying to get an elimination every game is a bit more difficult. It’s easier to just bomb in most cases. Then again, I wasn’t a fan on interceptors, I actually enjoy being able to move my plane, something the P-38J-15 and L-5-LO is not capable of.
Then again, I haven’t touched either since I spaded them and refuse to touch them again. Maybe they buffed them, I don’t know, I hate them anyways.
People wouldnt care if there wasnt only 4 bases, or if they respawned in a minute like they did for quite a while.
Having half your team bombing ends up affecting them.
I think rhe whole base thing is incredibly bad gsmeplaywise above like 8.0, wish they had different objectives entirely for modern planes. Other problem is unlike ww2 and coldwar brs a lot of fighters are multirole and that ends up being a problem for dedicated strike planes in the limited target enviroment.
Hopefully SEAD does something for this.
It’s more on the fact that they just rearmed instal of hanging around a bit and shot their fucking R-24R
Never bombed in the mig23 but dont they give up r24 pylons for the napalm? R60m at 11.7 isn’t the greatest, and of all non irccm missiles they are the most difficult to score kills with since you have to know what you are doing and cant launch them at players from a distsnce and score a suprise hit, which if you are base bombing you dont reslly have the skillset for most likely.
R60m peak on mig21bis, mig23 fm and the opponets it face is much worse than the mig21bis and you need to get like 0.5km from somone you drained energy from to guarentee a hit, mig23 loses a dogfight against phantoms with bomb strapped to them now after the nerfs.
At least with stuff like aim9j you can lob it at someone twice the range r60m has a dream of hitting and hope they dont notice. Aim 9L is in a completely different league.
It’s not necessarily about that.
I have no issue with people grinding via ground attack, but they should really do it in a ground attacker.
When you are in a ground attacker like say, a Tornado GR1, and you are sat there with a belly full of bombs waiting for bases to respawn because all 4 bases were taken out by Mig-23MLs running napalm is rather annoying.
So there is 2 sides to this issue.
The First is sorting out the PvE side of ARB so that ground attackers are less likely to get screwed / have greater meaningful impact on the match outcome. This could be as simple as increase the base respawn rate from 5 minutes to 3 minutes and/or adding “heavy” targets that require a lot of bombs to destroy but eliminate a chunk of tickets when destroyed.
The other is to re-balance Napalm, it is obscenely strong at the moment and enables you to run essentially 2x 750-ish lb bombs instead of the 5000-6000lb worth of bombs needed with conventional ordinance. Even just changing it so that most of the damage came from the damage over time effect (which is how it should be) and not from the initial impact would help quite a bit.
Gaijin made a huge song and dance about the Tornado IDSs with guided weapons needing to be 11.7 because they had greater effeciency than their unguided brethren at 11.3 and here we have the Mig-23ML at 11.7 scoring base kills more consistantly. Just raises huge questions about how the hell they calculate this “effeciency”
