With 109 E series, or new T-2, in the last few battles, using prop pitch air brake , with 0% throttle of course, cause dmg to my engine, I think it happened in high speed, I though that with 0% throttle the 100% PP Is Safe…but…have you any similar experiences?
during Landing, for example, is completely fine, but it happened to me while diving on the enemy at a speed of 550-700kph
0% throttle, than I switched PP to manual and set 100% and immediately high RPM warning and engine goes black.

If you’re at too high of a speed it can still wreck the engine due to the propellor turning over faster than the engine wants it to, slow down to under 500 before using it

I don’t remember having this problem with 109 Fs or Gs, maybe it’s a problem of older Daimler Benz engines?
But yes, thanks, I’ll definitely watch out for that, or I’ll stop using this air brake to slow down fast diving and again using that only to force the enemy to overshoot.
That’s what I use it for. I just bought the T2 to test that one as well and yeah it seems to be a bit more of an issue on the older engines, but it’s still great for overshoots.
