I believe they do, but not for ground vehicles
I do really like the Ajax, but as usual gaijin have made it quite a bit worse than it should be.
For literally no reason they removed the internal armour in the turret that acted as blowout panels, despite the fact we have visual proof they are present
Its a world better than the Desert Warrior and in my opinion gives the 2S38 and BMP2M a run for their money when you encounter them, so its a nice addition

Yeah, Gaijin like knee-capping new British vehicles for some reason. So far on my list:
- Fixed zoom sucks, should get variable zoom with a higher max (so sad this report got rejected, it would be perfect)
- missing Spall liners
- Missing armour
- Missing frontal armour
- “blowout panel”
- optional external ERA? (Should have those right? in the 42? ton config)
- Wrong ammo configuration
But definetly in a better state than I was expecting it to be in

They also modelled the entire mantlet as 20mm, despite it being the same armour configuration (RHA base with HHRHA addons on top) as the rest of the turret.
it’s why your barrel/breach constantly gets taken out in the Ajax, and so far they’ve ignored my report
But at least the Ajax isnt modelled as badly as the CR3TD

After trying to play 10.3 with my AJAX, it was just a horrible horrible experience… Terminator horde is just not fun…so after a day of suffering, I decided to take my AJAX into 12.7 matches and boy what a difference. The AJAX is amazing to play at top tier…ok, so it won’t survive long, but I have in the last 2 days had more fun @ top tier in it than 10.3. Just leave them Terminators to themselves in 10.3…and once the T1000’s get moved up to 11.7+ then take the AJAX back to 10.3. ;)

Yep. Its a real tragedy that in the same update Britain finally gets the vehicles we’ve needed for 10.3+ for 3 years, the entire bracket is rendered unplayable with a toxic addition that gaijin should have realised was totally inappropriate for the game in general. not just for such a stupidly low BR.
I dont think Gaijin actually understands what “balance” actually is.

CVRT is fun but the BR it is in is unplayable, take it to top tier and it’s far more enjoyable.
Ajax is great just Gaijins insistence on making Russian tanks armour so resilient to your 40mm makes killing them or even disabling them a massive chore.
Leopard 2, M1 and Leclerc all side shots all take damage cannot fire back and die, Russian tanks just take the damage the autoloader never explodes and they kill you with the one round they have as the autoloader has been destroyed.
I’ve got another 20k to grind before unlocking the boxer but im done for today. GRB is just too cancerous.
And yeah… but we arent really surprised. Soviet stuff must be the best. Always

I think I was wrong about the CRV been a good edition. Crew knock out so easy, you get your ammo blown up its all of your ammo as its all classifed as first stage. CRV is really tall and gets shredded so easy by everything you meet. APS doesn’t want to work at all ( its only saved me once from a BMP-3 firing a missile from its gun.
Maybe will try it again at a later date but right now the T-80 / Terminator spam is just far to hiddious to spade it currently.
My hot take is the CRV 2 should have been a TT vehicle and this early version of the Ajax seeing as it’s not the final production version should have been the event vehicle.
I think they both should have just been TT. The snail has the awkward thing with British vehicles and always putting the very earliest versions in the game. I mean the Harrier / Jaguar and many other came in as there bog standard for air.
Then for Tanks we got the Challenger without its addon armour package.
So I think we may see upgraded varients of the Ajax just so the snail can keep up grinding for a better moddel that by the time its introduced will be outclassed and at a BR far too high for it to ever be effective

They could have been but we both agree that wasn’t going to happen, right? I’m also mad that as far as I know all of the boxers so far have been event vehicles. I am hopeful for my British friends that an Ajax with ATGM’s is coming soon.
Absolutely. Given low BR all of the UK tree event and squad tanks have been minus maybe 1-2, I wasn’t so bothed about this one been an even and 10.7, but for an event tank there is literally nothing special about it. So for now its just going to sit and gather dust for me as the Ajax no matter how bad it is currently is far better then the CRV in the current climate of small maps and terminators.
Based upon Gaijins stance during the dev server. Its gunna be a while. Because unlike soviet vehicles. Ajax with Javelin is considered purely a mockup and therefore impossible to add to the game. With the recent delays in IRL deployment, it could be a while before it makes it to the game.
Agree’d, but you know the snail. They will want to add more useless filler to the UK nation when they introduce higher BR’s and ranks. Also there stance makes no sense when looking at Challenger 3 and Black Knight, as both are just tech demo’s and upgrade demo’s. Neither have been build for service.

Ajax is god awful currently in its state with bugs already been reported, but honestly I thought the CRV would be better but Snail proved me wrong again.
I like it, but it shouldnt be fighting 12.0s that are for some reason only 0.3 BR higher
