10.3 British Ajax Is DoA

Well if you took a deeper look you would see i mainly used spikes to kill heli’s instead of tanks while been stock. But glancing at someones stats and making a judgement based on only 2 factors is somewhat a silly thing to do.

Like I could make the assumption your opinions on UK tech tree tanks is irrelevent since you only grind with prem tanks in the UK tree, but alas I gave your opinion as much weight as everyone else.

Read my initial post, that was my argument, people here started turning it into a convo about spike missles been rubbish which I simply don’t care about

That thing has like 8x gunner zoom at 10.3 lol

check the fuel tanks in the garage, there inside the tank and listed as external fuel tanks, so its even worse then what you just pointed out.

It absolutely does though. No matter how much you try to downplay it, there is a massive difference.

Debatable, usually if I launch a side aspect spike counterpart in my Jaguar I have already finished said target with the 40mm before the spike even arrives lol.

The thing is, since you get spikes completely stock, so by your own logic you should actually have even more kills per battle, since according to your logic you start with the most potent weapon from the get go.

Since I also perform better than you in most of the TT vehicles in other trees, that I also did the stock grind for, I doubt the premium vehicle argument holds much weight.

Dead serious.

Been frontally hammering T72s to death since th update. BMP2 and bmp3 cant do enough to you before they are turned to dust as well.

It’s only critique I have beyond the obvious “too fat to flank, too lightly armoured to survive an MBT” is that it’s been put at the same BR as BMPT-72 and BMPT-90, this is not fault of Ajax but the reality that terminators have been put a whole BR too damn low for what their protection mobility and volume of firepower offers.

The matchmaker has been broken apart by everyone playing the BMPT to abuse how busted OP it is and everything else is suffering due to it.

There’s modelling issues of course. This is the newest light tank to enter service in the world at the moment so accurate information is as scarce as on fake stuff like a KH38-MT/MTE but this hasn’t really made it suffer as it still holds up incredibly well

Ajax has notably less pen than 2S38.
And at least a bit less pen than Strf 9040C.

Oh right, I forgot I want 2S38 moved to 10.7.
Okay yeah, Ajax is probably fine at 10.3.

Flat maps that favour RU players, nothing else needs be said

Holds litterally no water since I’m used to playing UK other tree’s are taking time to learn to play well, and i don’t really enjoy most other tanks in game

A lot of the skills you need to do well in this game are pretty universal between trees though, but that is a whole different discussion.

I dunno man. I was sceptical as well at first but I’m really enjoying the Ajax.

I think it’s just what Britain needed in the br bracket. It’s a very solid upgrade to the badger (but to be fair, a rotten log is an upgrade to the badger) with its decent mobility, its pretty powerful gun etc.

Won a 2 vs 1 against an Abrams and a bmpt yesterday, fix the sights, move the bmpt up and I’m super happy with it.

Universal skills??? You mean my main tech tree been so underperforming its laughable? its only been recently that Challenger 2’s could even keep up with team mates, and pretty hard to do well when fighting RU teams 90% of the time. Low Tier is just Yaks farming you and solid shot/Sabot doing no damage even to ammo. Mid Tier’s its getting blown up by CAS, Top Tier its basically dying to shots through your mentlet or spending 75% of your game playing tank mechanic simulator. or dying to Heli’s and before that dying to KH38MT spam and the occational Hammer.

No amount of map knowlege can save you from badly implimented and broken tanks / CAS

Im looking forward to unlocking it, about 2/3 done. But im dreading the stock grind, especially with how unbalanced the BR is at the moment. Tempted to not use it at 10.3 and instead use it at 11.7

We definatly needed something agree’d. How ever I still think the CRV will do everything better then Ajax.

Truthfully I’ve not touched the badger and have rarely taken out any of the SA tech tree.

Stock grind isn’t so bad if you can avoid BMPT’s, You start with your best round so your first battle your at full stength as far as firepower is concerned. Just avoid BMPT’s, every other light tank is food for Ajax and some MBT’s can give you issues when they refuse to die when hitting ammo “cough” “looking at you RU tanks” “cough”

Oh nice, so shouldnt be quite as bad as I was expecting (remembering DW stock grind, shudders)

I could sugest you try and unlock the ammo for killing jets and heli’s as soon as you can. I don’t know how many times carrying just 40 of them has saved me and my team from first spawn rushes and late game jets.

My main way of playing the tank isn’t getting onto flanks or going solo but sticking to 1-2 MBT’s, shutting down light tanks that attack them, keeping CAS off them and also been able to watch there flank and spot for them. Most matches I get 5+ assists and some kills if they leave any for me.

Yeah, thats one capability im rather looking forward to. Its an area we’ve been lacking at that BR, a decent multirole.

Yeah, that sounds like my usual playstyle. Support rather tahn flank.

This is your topic, so while I’m happy to discuss I don’t want to fully derail the topic with a wall of text, so I’ll keep the replies short:

Yes, you don’t neccesarilly learn how to play a tech tree. You learn how to play the playstyles that are most common in said tech trees.

For example: Britain uses a lot of solid shot in the lower tiers, so you learn how to play with solid shot. France however also uses a lot of tanks with solid shot, do you magically unlearn everything you have learned in the British tree when you open the French tree? No.

There are plenty of other examples.

Somewhat agreed on the part about broken CAS, however Map knowledge and skill can save you from a lot of seemingly “broken” ground vehicles. Hell lack of map knowledge and skill often makes vehicles seem broken even when they aren’t.

Pefect example is Russian top tier vehicles, especially MBTs: Besides the recently added BMPT (which is undertiered), most of the Russian top tier vehicles are mid-decent at best, despite a lot of people believing they are broken.

Then you will love its anti CAS. I’ve managed to shoot down drones from 5 miles away using the APDSFS since the other round wont properly track that far out. But for closer stuff like 3 miles out, yea you can rip them apart.

To my suprise, even RU Heli’s and the SU-25’s are no match for how quickly you can lock, aim and take them out.

I’ve not played much french tech tree at all. The nations I have grinded all have completely different play styles. The UK doesn’t play anything like GER / USA / RU / SWE. So yea its a learning curve for me as I tend to fall back into a play style I’m use to with the brits and that doesn’t always result in alot of kills as I don’t push alot
