This is your topic, so while I’m happy to discuss I don’t want to fully derail the topic with a wall of text, so I’ll keep the replies short:
Yes, you don’t neccesarilly learn how to play a tech tree. You learn how to play the playstyles that are most common in said tech trees.
For example: Britain uses a lot of solid shot in the lower tiers, so you learn how to play with solid shot. France however also uses a lot of tanks with solid shot, do you magically unlearn everything you have learned in the British tree when you open the French tree? No.
There are plenty of other examples.
Somewhat agreed on the part about broken CAS, however Map knowledge and skill can save you from a lot of seemingly “broken” ground vehicles. Hell lack of map knowledge and skill often makes vehicles seem broken even when they aren’t.
Pefect example is Russian top tier vehicles, especially MBTs: Besides the recently added BMPT (which is undertiered), most of the Russian top tier vehicles are mid-decent at best, despite a lot of people believing they are broken.
Then you will love its anti CAS. I’ve managed to shoot down drones from 5 miles away using the APDSFS since the other round wont properly track that far out. But for closer stuff like 3 miles out, yea you can rip them apart.
To my suprise, even RU Heli’s and the SU-25’s are no match for how quickly you can lock, aim and take them out.
I’ve not played much french tech tree at all. The nations I have grinded all have completely different play styles. The UK doesn’t play anything like GER / USA / RU / SWE. So yea its a learning curve for me as I tend to fall back into a play style I’m use to with the brits and that doesn’t always result in alot of kills as I don’t push alot
UK requires you to try and keep your hull hidden and hope they don’t hit your mantlet and knock your gun out, best used as a snipers.
RU requires more flat ground to be useable and city work/buit up area’s seems to work best for them
USA is a mixed bag where speed can keep you in good positions and move around well but wouldn’t really say city/buit up area’s are good for it
GER/SWE ( basically the same nation at this point ) seem to be equally good at sniper roles and pushing rolls, can get into early spots with speed and decent armour to take hits.
So as I was saying before, myself as a UK main am used to been the slow ass in the back covering my teams flanks and shutting down lights trying to make a break for the rear. This tend to leave me with very little to do, if the forward push collapses well, in a nice way your basically f**k*d and get over ran so quickly.
I tend to find myself reverting to this way of playing regardless of the nation I use ( my own issues yes ) there for you wont see me doing amazing with tanks that I should be using very differently.
Thats not unique to the UK tho. Hulldown is how you play most western MBTs bar things like Strv122/2A7V and even then its beneficial to hide their hulls if possible.
Pulling 1 thing out of my reply isnt really helping you understand, so i will ask you to read it from start to finish. What I have written is 100% from my own prespective and why my stats will reflect such low scores for all nations
Even outside of top tier. M103 & Conqueror, M60 & Centurion Mk.10, M60A1 AOS/A3 TTS & Chieftain Mk.3/5/10 just as some examples that I came up with on the go. There are probably a lot more examples to be found when looking through the tech tree.
All of these pairs are very similar with only small differences in playstyle.
id argue the better depression angles and faster firing rate make them on par for firepower. the 2s38 is just far smaller and a hell of a lot faster, its armour also doesnt matter as no armour is annoyingly the best in most instances
(and the actual queue times have blown out since no one wants to face USSR 10.3)
Probably not the best time for them to have implemented the Ajax, typical for Britain. Give it a couple of weeks and the BMPT will be gone from 10.3 and hopefully the Ajax can breath a little. I’ll reserve my judgement on the vehicle for the time being. Can you imagine if they had have implemented the Ajax instead of the Desert Warrior? Well over a year of a BR bracket that hadn’t been destroyed by the BMPT.
