+-1 BR is outdated

All the test would prove is BRs for all ~2700 vehicles would have to move around.
That’s THE secondary issue with the matchmaker changing, is ALL vehicles have to be studied and moved about.
The primary is that it’s just objectively worse than having 4 slots for more refined balancing of vehicles.

The example I like to bring up, because a T26E5 can beat an IS-4M and Maus in a 1v1 if played correctly, and this is 6.7 - 7.7.

T26E5, Tiger 2 105, IS-3, and IS-4M are currently different BRs. All are different in capabilities, all are balanced with each other.

THAT is the benefit of having 4 slots in a matchmaker.

And instead of studying all vehicles in the game, BR decompression can just move about the last 100 - 400 problematic children causing issues for everyone else.
For 2.7 ground, it’s as easy as moving everything 6.7 - 12.7 up by 0.3 to start, or 0.7, then figuring out where everything 2.3 - 6.3 goes.
For 9.3 air, it’s as simple as moving everything 10.7 - 14.7 up by 0.3 - 0.7.
For 13.0 it’s as simple as moving EVERY TWIN ENGINED AMRAAM FIGHTER UP BY 0.7… I am a tad mad about that one, and then figuring out where the 12.3 - 13.0 stuff goes after that.

Less work, better results.

So you think having 0.7 BR mm is same as wot facing rank 8 tanks in some poor rank 6 tank? :D :D :D

I think you have never played wot then.
That MM is seriously moresame as in war thunder not having BR’s at all just Rank MM , so it is like facing Any top tier MBT from rank 8 in your poor rank 6 KPZ-70

Ok, that makes sense reading through that. I think it would still be time consuming but definitely needed.

I’d like to see that, lol. I think that would be pretty skill dependent, especially the Maus.

I don’t really see what ±0.7 would achieve that just some sensible BR placements couldn’t - at least in ASB at WW2 prop tiers.

All we really need down there is stuff like XP-55, Ki-84, Spitfire Lf Mk IX, Ju 288 and F4U-4B to get moved up and it’d be chill. Then maybe also the P-51C and P-51D-5 to swap places.

With WW2 piston fighters you can have people winning 2.0 BR differences fairly consistently (F6F-5 (3.7) vs Bf 109 K-4/Ta 152H (5.7)) in ASB.

Yes, I think it would be better.

If folks do want a challenge, or perhaps bring in a HE/HEAT slinger with low BR in GRB, they can include it in their preset.
Likewise, they can also bring some lower BR plane, which could have some other redeeming features (like maneuverability).
And of course, you can also bring in a reserve vehicle in, like, 10.0 BR match. It is something of a coming around, as IFVs tend to have low armour, so reserve vehicle would be able to do something, especially with artillery strike upgrade.

Of course, devs could make more sensible BR placements of vehicles… But that of course depends on who is the one deciding what is sensible and not, fellow can be biased.

So this BR 1.0 to 0.7 reduction would be a quicker solution.

Just out of curioisity , why would all 2K and over vehicles should be moved around?
This 0.7Br mm range would just cut lowest and biggest out of your normal games.

Now you play example 10.0 ground game, you get anything from 9.0/9.3/9.7/10.0/10.3/10.7/11 in there.
This would just make it afterwards 9.3/9.7/10.0/10.3/10.7.
I’m not wanting to change these basic systems at all, I personally think this would actually give breathing room and keep more equal vehicles in same game.

I would like to know some example why or what vehicle could suffer from this change?

To be balanced with one another…

The point of a match maker is to provide diverse challenge.
And right now, most vehicles are balanced [not my opinion].
It is a minority of vehicles causing issues for everyone else.

It’s not F-18A causing issues for 11.3, it’s Su-30SM2, F-15C GE, etc causing issues for 11.3.
It’s not F-86A-5 causing issues for Me 262, it’s Mig-19PT/S causing issues for Me 262.

The root causes for badly BR’d vehicles are easily spotted.
