Z-9WA AKD-9 lock and track

I just grinded to the AKD-9 on Z-9WA Chinese helicopter. Its the same missile found on the Premium Z-19E and Z-19. On these helis, you can lock a tank like with a Hellfire or a Vikhr. Here for some reason, I need to manually track it like SACLOS, even though the heli has laser designator. Am I doing something wrong or is this indended?

its not about missile its about sensors on the helicopter

Ah crap you are right, I see it now. The optics don’t have IRST. Well, thanks for the answer, but at least it has 6km range a from what I tested the missile itself is pretty good.
