optimization. Each patch eats ~10 to 20 FPS regarding if there were any graphic improvements. And on “reworked” maps it drops even more drastically. I cant get around playing easy 150 fps with SSAA and 16X anti-asiling in january and suddenly i get 60 at this update with 4x anti-asiling.
They need to improve certain ammunitions to make them more reliable. Weak HEATFS is extremely inconsistent and not fun to use, HESH needs to be buffed such that it isn’t just glorified HE, etc…
Fix fuel tanks absorbing everything, fix volumetric BS, fix armour holes, fix low-calibre APHE being able to ricochet and penetrate roof armour and nuke cupolas… and then maybe War Thunder would be more enjoyable.
The vehicles for the most part are amazing. A lot of the core mechanics can be questionable at time (hitreg and damage calc) and compression is a sin. A lot of BRs also have clear imbalance that just ruin the experience.
I am skeptical about 7.3-8.7
a lot of different mechanics appear in some vehicles, but don’t appear in others
Laser rangefinders, two-plane stabilizers, thermal imagens, composite armour, high explosive shells, armor-piercing shells, APS …
My vote is to improve maps in bluewater naval. Some ships are not built for 18th century line battles, yet the maps will spawn both fleets right next to each other with little to no cover - so if you’re in any ship that has known/major weakpoints, or you’re using a ship that is simply not built to be taking hits - it ain’t a good time.
Second is graphics. But specifically, they need to keep improving and optimising their implementation of ray tracing, DLSS, FSR, etc. They did a good job by adding them in the first place, but work on them since has been slow. Edit: I also want them to keep stepping up what is considered ULQ to be with the times. Get rid of the “integrated graphics” bros for good (actually, the AMD APUs are pretty damn good these days, so they don’t even need to do that).
Everything else I’m fine with. Grind is fine. Economy is fine. Life is good.
honestly war thunders biggest failure is Gaijins complete lack of creativity when it comes to gamemodes. You have all these iconic and great vehicles but at least half of them are utterly useless, because they dont fit in the one dimensional gameplay loop. Gaijin has the ingredients for such an amazing game but just refuses to cook and instead adds more and more ingredients to the mix
Yeah, that’s unacceptable. Weird stutter, took you all the way down to 40 frames. How much memory does your GPU have, btw? I know some with 8GB models that have been hitting walls depending on their settings.
