Yes, generative AI is a tool but the sheer amount of applications it’s been wasted on has proven how unfeasible it is.
Microsoft has basically abandoned it due to costing more than humans, assuming the news was correct.

well for starters the promo images aren’t the AI generated ones, those were seemingly actually made by artists. the slop is what’s actually in the game

The posters on the actual in-game model of the Emily OES were AI-generated to the point that they had the gemini watermarks left in. A similar watermark (with a little line manually added next to it that makes it look like a shooting star) also appears on the flag draped on the back of the vehicle, but that seemingly wasn’t AI generated as it appears in the promotional material without either the star or the line so I guess they just slapped that in for consistency with the posters
The posters on the promotional material are instead, uh . Copyrighted album covers, I believe.
There’s also the chicanery around the Union Flags on the front of the mantlet (the short has them as rough, punk-style renditions, the in-game model has them as perfect regulation proportions and the current promotional screenshots are somehow somewhere inbetween) but that doesn’t feel like it’s AI so much as inconsistent design since AI can’t do textures or 3D models very well, and the model of the Challenger in the promotional screenshots and short is also allegedly… incorrect in a few places, which also likely isn’t AI but might explain some of the changes to the texture between the two (or I guess now three) versions of the model

AI on the challenger. the M60 also appears to have AI textures, i imagine theres a lot in the past too but they removed the gemini star.

literally the most pointless addition to the UK tree. That wasnt the US origin plane that UK players have asked to recieve for over a decade, weve asked for mustangs and sabres because we actually used them a fair bit.

its also on several textures on the Goon Thunder Challenger
on the flag its very clear. other textures i couldnt get the camera into a good position to see.

This is notable because it doesn’t appear in the promotional material with the same flag (and neither does the line left of it). The watermarks on the posters on the ingame model were removed already, incidentally. (not that that excuses them being there to begin with lmao)
The going theory atm seems to be that Gaijin outsourced the in-game model for a design based on the CG model made by whoever made the promotional short/renders and didn’t do their due diligence.
Gaijin doesnt really do much in house so thats highly likely.
I know gaijin doesnt care if its AI or not but imagine paying someone for their talent to make a texture for a game asset only for them to make gemini do it.
It’s not a stretch; it’s confirmed for the Chally 2 Emily by one of the mods.
The symbol on the M60 is way too deliberately shaped to not be ‘an accident’ or misplaced texture.

Im not seeing anything on their twitter page. maybe was deleted to try and pretend it never happened.
Really wouldnt have taken long to make some textures for fake rock albums and stuff it just comes across an even more lazy than normal
