I’m wondering why Yamato battleship’s fuel tank only carried this much, wouldnt it be too few to powered 72K tonnes battleship?
Yamato had range issues in real life.

Because Gaijin made it wrong again.
All compartments marked with O and dark colors are fuel tanks, while compartment marked with F is a drainage compartmen.You can see that the fuel tanks almost cover the entire bottom of the ship, and there are also a large number of fuel tanks at the bow and stern of the ship above the cabin deck. In the game, there is a lack of fuel tanks below the boiler compartment, and the water injection and drainage compartments are not divided into part of the fuel tanks, so it seems that the fuel is not enough at all.
Given the precedent of other countries’ ships using torpedo defense compartments and some drainage compartments as fuel tanks, it is actually possible to add more fuel tanks to Yamato if Gaijin is willing. (Perhaps they should first fix the armor of Yamato, which is currently the only newly launched battleship with no armor structure inside the main armor except for the turret ring.)
