Yeah… make it the exact same BR as Yak-9UT which is exactly the same thing, but better… makes sense to me.
Yak-9K is quite strong, so is 9UT, but don’t pretend like they are some indestructible menaces. They don’t have as good A2A capabilities as other fighter of that BR. Of course, they get A2G capabilities instead which is a reasonable trade off. 9K stands in a slightly better place here as it has the same gun at lower BR which makes it a bit more obnoxious so i guess slight BR change could be implemented, but definitely bringing to match it’s greatly upgraded variant isn’t a viable solution.
Make 9K 4.7 or 5.0 at best (in GRB only) so that it is slightly easier to counter, while UT being significantly higher BR already which greatly weakens the gun itself when compared to 9K can stay at 6.0 (it was already nerfed, it used to be 5.7).
Those planes can indeed wipe out huge chunk of enemy team if left alone. But if you leave such a plane alone to do whatever it wants, that’s on you. Gun CAS is much more vulnerable to AA than any other type of CAS in the game and any fighter of similar BR should be able to win an engagement with them.
And before you start browsing my profile and foaming from your mouth at the sight of my number of battles in 9UT eager to start calling me an abuser of this plane, great majority of my games in 9UT has been played long before it had the APHE added. I used it as a normal fighter with a nice bonus of overpressuring nearly any SPAA with 1 shot using it’s massive HE shell. It was fun it’s own way long before it received APHE.
I struggle with pragmatic communication, have audio processing issues and general deficits associated with neurodivergence and I am able to understand what point Percussion is making.
You claimed that Yak-9K is fine at 4.3 in GRB because “it has unique capabilities and we shouldn’t nerf it just because of that.”
Here, for ease of context:
Therefore it follows that if we take the zeros - awful top speed, bad dive decceleration, bad high-speed acceleration (but good low speed acceleration) and compare them to peer aircraft then we can justify moving them down to 3.0 where they’d fit right in.
Nevermind that they have a field of excellence - low-speed turnfighting, stall-fighting.
That’s just something that is different and has unique capabilities.
Also.
I genuinely don’t understand this point.
Does a yak-9K have weaknesses? Sure.
So does the zero and the spitfire.
Bf109s can counter yak-9k the same way they counter zeros and spits.
If the bf109 does not use the same approach as it does with zeros and spits, I feel the yak-3k is competetive using its roll rate with german and american props.
What A2A capability do you consider “as other fighter of that BR”?
Cannon that doesn’t require god eye to aim at plane? I mean I can nest an NS-37 or 37mm M1 on a plane bbut not everyone got that talent and my talent to put big caliber gun dies at jet BR.
High skillfloor does not make a vehicle bad. It’s also quite agile (roll rate), so getting that gun on target does not rely on making high-aspect snapshots.
