Yak-141 should have his real payload

R-60M in a 4th generation fighter…?

You can tell Yak-141 was a prototype, but his payload was not intended to be R-60M…

That aircraft have the same radar than Mig-29S 9.13S. That mean R-73 and R-77 was his primary payload for series production.

War Thunder Yak-141 is very limited with R-60

9.13 can’t use R-77s.

show me a series production model that had them equipped its as easy as that

So use the insanely OP R-27E

Yak-141 is a good 12.7, it doesn’t need anything else.
On top of that it doesn’t “have” R-60Ms, it has R-27Ts, which are among the best missiles at that BR.

It uses the same radar as the MiG-29SMT not 9.13
And yes I agree it should get access to the R-73 and R-77

Yak-141 deserves respect as F-35 engineers bought the right to use his engine system as base earlier production.

So I don’t get why WT want to downgrade such an Iconic VTOL design.

R-60M on it is a joke

It’s not insanely OP, it’s just really good.

Its by far the best SARH in game and nearly an equal to most ARH missiles. If im in the 12.7 bracket in Sim, R-27ERs are by far the best missile and few things can compete.

Eh, debatable. It will reach the target faster than most ARH’s in a BVR battle but the Fox 3 itself also has a radar…
But yes it’s still very good.

Highly unlikely, especially as it mostly used Harrier Research from BAE.

Also not sure why this is relevant to War Thunder, by the same logic I could argue that the Sea Harrier FA2 should get ASRAAM because the RN design requirement for the FA2 replacement aircraft was a core part of the USMCs design requirements for the F-35

[Insert all VTOL aircraft here]

Even the far more iconic Harrier is nerfed into oblivion, at least the Yak-141 has all its capabilities, both those it was equipped with and those that were only ever on paper. Still waiting for basic things on the Harrier to be modeled.

Its a perfectly capable all-aspect missile, just fire it close and there is little anything can do about it. But if its not to your liking, use R-27T in that slot

Why are you even using them? Use 2xR27R and 2xR27ER or 2xR27R and 2xR27ET

LMFAO, how many times is this myth going to be perpetuated.

They bought the flight test data, not the engine.

got a source for that lie lmao?

The F35s VTOL was more than likely using information handed over from BAE about the only successful VTOL plane of the cold war, Harrier

Oh boy I hope nobody brings out some “sekrit documents”

Well no, I was actually talknig about those saying “just use R-27” or insinuating that R-73s mean the SHar should have ASRAAMs. Additionally, how is it different than British mains claiming the F-35 was based on the Harrier, when it was actually using the completely different technology of the Convair 200? The Harrier wasn’t involved at all and uses a completely different method of generating vertical thrust!

For real? The YAK141 was not equipped with any weapons before it was cancelled.
