The XM8 (M8 AGS) is missing it’s “blow-out” ammunition storage.
The bulkhead separating crew from ammunition in both hull and turret is modeled in game, but blow-out functionality is missing. Unless the bulkhead is breached, ammo detonation should not result in vehicle destruction.
The vehicle’s survivability suffers greatly as a result of this missing feature. Most of the vehicle’s frontal profile is either ammo-rack or crew members, see this diagram:
Any hit to red area is a guaranteed death to crew loss (losing 2 out of 3), orange area is highly probable ammo rack detonation.
What I’m asking for here is to turn the orange area from “instant death” to “less probable death”, my point being that “blow-out” racks would help immensely.

Waiter, waiter! More sensible posting please!
The fact you found the actual info for it proves that Gajin did not do a full report and is not to their realistic standard.
Full credit to Spookston for finding the sources.
I’m simply resubmitting the report, since it seems he’s given up Xd

Indecently this would be the third time such a report has been made on this exact subject. Had good reason to give up tbh.

XM8 and CCVL have received detailed internals in the “Dance of Dragons” dev server.
Here is the ammunition and autoloader on XM8 (CCVL layout is the same)
Detailed internals and autoloader damage models is of course a welcome change, and I support it being added on all vehicles. Unfortunately, the XM8 and CCVL were not survivable before this update, and will be even less so after.
These vehicles are very much “powder kegs on tracks”, consisting of tightly packed crew and ammunition. View the vehicle from the front and consider this: A hit on the left side results in highly probable destruction (crew loss), while a hit on the right is highly probable destruction (ammunition detonation). With the updated autoloader model, if you are lucky enough to survive a hit in the ammunition area, now you also have to deal with a destroyed autoloader.
This is too much of a nerf to an already struggling vehicle, and I think it is unfortunate that this remodel did not include the blow-out panels that the XM8 and CCVL had historically. This is something that the players have been waiting for since their addition 3 to 2 years ago.
