XM246/Gepard are too powerful with their anti-tank ammo

I remind you without AP ammo is difficult to shoot CAS down because some CAS are light armored against standard ammo used by spaa.

I’ve changed my mind.

Like what

People are complaining so much.
In the meantime the gepard 1a2 is nerfed so much its missing its main ammunition
Full belt FAPS. Whose whole upgrade purpose specificsly was to use that ammo

Examples of Armored Aircraft in War Thunder: the Soviet IL-2 Sturmovik and German Me 410 Hornisse, which feature armor plating around the engine, fuel tanks, and pilot to absorb damage and extend survivability. While armor adds weight and can affect performance, these aircraft use it to become “flying tanks,” capable of absorbing considerable punishment from ground and aerial threats.

Gepard isn’t that bad, at least it dies when you shoot it. XM246 on the other hand…goddamn they are annoying.

I have never once seen a Gepard or any other spaa leading the charge into battle irl…why is that?

Funny argument, when the gepard specialy has a dedicated compartment to store APDS to use against armored targets quickly without changing main belts.

You dont see IFVs realy charging either.
Thats the job of the mbts. Doesnr mean gepards or ifvs cant kull armored targets

246 took two of my 105mm post-war HEAT rounds straight to the UFP and ‘mantlet’ and lost only its vertical cannon drive and a fuel tank.

Alot of light tanks and SPAA have really messed up damage models at that BR. Gepard and its many clones are always a complete dice roll whether or not a sabot to the turret will kill.

Fix overpressure to not be stupid and the issue is gone

This has aged well, been seeing Gepards frontally destroy T-72’s in 10.0 matches.

And the new patch made the problem worse, welcome Flakpanzer 341 to the gang of tank-destroying SPAA

It’s especially annoying because gaijin has learned this lesson in the past many times.

Great… buffing the snot out of a fictional tank that nobody can get anymore…
Also did Gaijin ever apply volumetric to auto cannons? It originally only applied to rounds over 50 or 57mm (I cant remember which) and I haven’t seen a patch note about that being changed, but I have not been playing non-stop since then so haven’t read every update.

true gepard is overpowerd at its br but an idea could be give it a 0.5 to 1 second delay to its rader so it become a lillte easier to survive

just a idea

Problem is the map sizes, try and get kills with a Gepard or Falcon on old Kursk.
Smaller maps means more rat vehicles hiding and ambushing.

THIS!

All SPAAG fall flat on their faces in most cases if not on urban maps and not surrounding caps with buildings on maps that are otherwise not urban (like Maginot Line).

What they should do is make it so that killing tanks with SPAAs gives less credits and XP, but instead, they should give significantly more credits and XP for shooting down air vehicles.
Another change would be to give SPAAs with radar more precision, since it’s embarrassing to have an aircraft fly by without changing course, fire in front of, over, and behind the firing marker, and not get a single shot. This shows that radars have a huge margin of error, regardless of the radar model and year of production.

If anything, kill rewards and accuracy for radar SPAA should be reduced

They already get barely any rewards and their accuracy is dogshit except against tanks.
