Xi'an JH-7, History, Performance & Discussion

I guess it will probably be up to gajjins interpretation then if China gets anything other than the base Kh-29T

What Missles can the JH7A fire on its 3rd Pylon? 1 PL-12 + 2 PL-11 or PL-8? i cant find it?

Anyone want to report that JH-7 should have NVGs? According to an article, it should:

Later versions of the Chinese Xi’an JH-7 “Flying Leopard” are reported to have all-weather attack capability and provisions for night vision goggle use by flight crews

As far as I can tell, JH-7A, the variant in-game is the latest version.

Maybe a PL-12? Outside of that tho I think that’s it, and good luck finding any actual evidence of it ever using the PL-12

Question, in the pictures, what’s the black missle next to the PL-12? It kinda looks like a C-704 but I can’t ID it?

It’s Type200A(Matra Durandal)

1.This is a small-sized laser-controlled, correctable penetrating aviation bomb of 200 kg caliber, designed for use from low altitudes…in some sources it is designated as CS/BBM1…

2. But with PL-12…I made a mistake in the photo of the LD-10 (anti-radar missile)…

I think that was the issue people had with reports, that we still lack solid evidence the JH-7A ever carried the PL-12

I don’t think it will be receiving the PL-12 regardless, the tank top tier is already lower than top tier air and it has no good reason to be armed with it.

The JH-7A is not a multi role fighter, it has no use for it.

That what I was assuming anyways with the way gajjin likes to balance these thaings. I was never really expecting it to get them even if it could…

Looks like we can farm lvl 5 players in their Abrams and Challengers with our Kh-29’s come next update lmao

I believe that vehicles should be given the loadouts that they historically use and not be a gimmick for balancing.
ex. F-100A Aim-9J

Let’s say if not hope PL-12 on JH-7A

So I might expect lead-in fighter trainer (LIFT)/light multirole combat aircraft Guizhou FTC-2000G armed IR PL-8 & PL-9C and guided active radar homing medium range BVR SD-10A

Problem is, even if you want to use that argument, there isn’t a single pic of the JH-7A actually flying with a PL-12, so that idea kinda falls flat

Someone should go to china and ask the officials about PL-12 on JH-7.

Wouldn’t make a difference. Even if we had solid proof, they would not add them to it since this is the BR they want the plane. Hence the lack of Pl-8B’s and Pl-5EII’s. And anybody who follows PLA military equipment development knows the Chinese tend to hint and beat around the bush instead of straight up telling us something. Such example is the the LD-10/Pl-12 being displayed with the JF-17 and JH-7A. They purposefully left it unpainted and with no markings, this is implying that the 2 missiles are interchangeable in usage, which makes logical sense since they share the same mountings and wiring. Further evidence of this being the case is the JF-17 display only had 1 of these missiles with it. We know it can carry the Pl-12 and is one of its main ordinances, yet at the same time as the air show the Chinese were advertising JF-17 compatibility with the the LD-10 and that they intended the missile to be used on the platform. Just be logical analysis, we can determine with a moderate degree of confidence the JH-7A is compatible with the Pl-12, although we will never see this configuration in real life.
