So PL-8B is still needed, at least it can deal with 9M R-73

yes, JH7A can supersonic and get only 2 PL8B, AV8B+ have 4 AIM9M but subsonic, it’s balance

I consider this plane to be an unworthy 11.7 .
At least in AirSB it would be an 11.3 .
The absence of the ground guided missiles that it should be able to carry is a major loss!

Looks like its been passed as a suggestion already, so hopefully we actually hear back from the devs considering it.

@Smin1080p im sorry too ping once more, but it seems that a report about the Kh-29’s was already acknowledged, and i also wanted too ask,
are the devs aware of and have any potential plans for additional weapons on the Jh-7A? i think alot of us were suprised when the devblog dropped and nothing was mentioned about any other additional weapons. I understand that some weapons might be too advanced for the game currently, but there still seem too be some options that would fit the game’s current meta.
AIM-9L is actually underperforming in flare resistance against afterburning targets…

Maybe, problem is if it gets buffed then it would go from being a good missle too a fantastic missle, and a lot of the planes that already have it at lower battle ratings would have too go up.
I don’t think it will move.
Any reports already acknowledged will be know. As for what will come, its too soon to say at the current moment as it has not yet been decided or concluded.

The pl8 in terms of flare resistance feels better than its ever been. Ever since sons of Atilla the 9L and pl8 both feel more resistant in rear shots. But I think the j8f and jh7a deserve the pl8a with irccm simply because of its awful 11.7 br. Sounds like jh7 will be another overtired Chinese jet. Beause at 11.7 you just face swarms of f16s and mig29s

yeah, hopefully over time it will get stronger if it goes down and i defiantly think that they will give it more domestic and Russian weapons, hopefully sooner than later tho

I especially think aircraft not designed for dogfighting like su25 tornado etc are eligible for higher performance air to air missiles as a slight compensation for their flight performance. Take su25t/su39 with r73, a10 with aim9L, harrier with aim9m. It would only make sense for jh7a to also receive better missiles with irccm to help it engage other aircraft. pl8a/b would be fine.

harrier may be subsonic but its got beastly acceleration and can dogfight really well at low speed. jh7a may not be able to dogfight at any speed. And with jh7a being a strike aircraft high performance ir missiles are mandatory in ground rb at 11.7 where virtually all heli have some form of ircm.
Currently there is an issue created to support adding PL-11 to JH-7A but marked as Info Requested
