The problem is they pretty much take the smallest things that can easily be implemented thats why they’ve added like 20 variants in the past 1-2 years as event vehicles.

Gaijin has that feel of a company that is about to go bankrupt : ) I can see why people think the game is dying.I mean I am really not sure.Its not much a party right now and I can see why the OP is trying to liven it up.
I don’t want to sound negative but I can see how they painted over WW2 since I started playing and we really think they will bring in WW1?
Sure and that’s fine, we all like different things. Just being practical and pragmatic doesn’t mean everyone else has to adhere to any of that. Just making a point about some things that seem like a waste of time for the reasons I stated is all. Like many things in the world, and even some Gaijin stuff, many times it just works better if you . . . keep it simple.

WW1 would be a nice introduction to the principles of flying in Warthunder. Only needs to one single simple game. A little prewar maybe and 1-BR 1914-1915 ,2 BR 1916-17 and 3BR 1917-1918 and maybe just little post war by a few months.No link to the main game so no major up tier worries.
You might be able to do the whole thing in 2BRs even.
Maybe we could hunt and protect AI operated Air ships in one game and have a straight old shooter in another. Just trying to make positive suggestions instated of my “Wont ever happen” stance.
Maybe this game needs a distraction and a fresh injection of fun. Plenty of scope for paying collectibles for Gaijin to make money. Sell skins and decals so you can become your own Knight of the air.

Well then, looks like the April Fools event this year will be WW1 with aircraft, tanks and infantry for testing.
This is an absolute dream for me, aircraft especially, but we’ll have to wait and see what it is like.

Awesome that we are getting some tanks but limiting the planes to Aces of Thunder is disappointing.

I wouldn’t be so down about it just yet. All that confirms is that WW1 aircraft are going to be a big selling point to Aces of Thunder, which looks like it is targeting the enthusiast market as opposed to War Thunder that is more casual.
In addition, all the WW1 vehicles aren’t being tagged as event vehicles, going into the tech tree when you get them, which suggests to me that Gaijin is at least considering expanding the game into WW1. Otherwise, they would be with all of the other event and premium vehicles, not with the tech tree. Wouldn’t say it’s a guarantee, but I’d say there is a decent chance.

I think it’s more to prevent people sealclubbing at 1.0 reserve tier to progress grind events, since vehicles labeled as “event” can be used regardless of rank limitations.
Doubt it. There are a handful of 1.0/very low br event vehicles as it is, and while the WW1 tanks are usable, they aren’t good, so there are better options for seal clubbing.
Right I had my hopes up for Aces of Thunder and the WW1 aircraft but this is just awful.
As we have been repeatedly been told “WW1 is a key feature of Aces of Thunder” and this is why we have been denied WW1 aircraft but this “key feature” is 4 aircraft. The Fokker D.VII, Dr.1, Sopwith Camel, and SPAD S.XIII. Also no customisation in the form of unlockable skins. It seems like they have just been tacked onto Aces of Thunder just to try and ship off players from War Thunder who want WW1 aircraft by saying “hey go play Aces of Thunder if you want WW1 planes”.
But also just with Aces of Thunder in general it looks like some aircraft will be paid DLC, like DCS modules except far lower quality. At 1:42 you can see there’s an option to purchase the F4U-4.
It seems like this game might indeed flop unless there’s major changes and that WW1 aircraft will die with it.

People think the game is dead because we’ve heard nothing about it for ages. Before their last news post it was 4 months of nothing.

i want the prop the Fokker DVII it had a amazing design being able to hang on its prop similar to how a SU30 can hover in place it couldnt do it forever but for a period of time it could
