I’ve suggested that there should be a video tutorial for controller configuration and preset controls to choose from. If you’re on Xbox, go to the official war thunder club, within the xbox UI and comment in there (or heart my comments, heh heh!)
Vehicles with a special function, such as Ratel 20 with its missile launch ability, could have their own control scheme that loads automatically when the particular vehicle is played.
I think that using a controller for air realistic is impossible, and console players should get a warning if they’re attempting it. I use a controller comfortably for Rank IV ground realistic but other modes are better with a mouse and keyboard attached.
The game is great with a controller, I don’t know if my brain could learn to use mouse.
