Would bringing back repair costs fix the unskilled player problem?

I see where you coming from, but it still pulls away a lot of your silver lions, especially when your unlucky. Sometimes I just get killed back to back by planes, without being able to do anything and I just lose a lot of SL for repair costs.

Yeah it might fix you firebombing bases in fighters

Alternative solution, make the 4v4 air and ground RB tournament modes permanent ranked modes in game.

Now you’re matched with players much closer to your skill and gaijin gets the bonus of more attention (and money) from the competitive scene.

Try Hards kill a game faster than they will ever build one.

If you want to play competitively, I highly recommend SQRB. Those are like-minded individuals and teams that are looking not just to compete and unlock the next vehicle, but win.

Please leave RB and AB alone for those who would like to enjoy the game. Nothing would kill the joy faster than having to work harder for less.

You are literally arguing the same points that Gaijin was that caused a community outcry so big it forced Gaijin to back down and capitulate to the players.

The argument was bad then, and it’s bad now.

You absolutely deserve the ratio you are getting lol

No, bringing back repair costs is a terrible idea.

I think the main problem is the maps and the tank damage model. These two things have made the game completely random, and making a simple mistake, or letting the game work against you, can ruin the entire match.
Virtually all the maps are riddled with uneven terrain and cover, making it impossible to control where an enemy might appear. This means that if you want to have a good match, you’ll end up standing still in one spot the whole time waiting for the enemy. That’s where the awful damage model comes in, sometimes causing your shots to ricochet pointlessly or do ridiculous damage, resulting in your own death, especially from BR 7.7 onwards.

Yay, let’s make the game already harder than it is for new players. The constant spam of level 100’s in low tier matches makes it very difficult for them to play already. And now they should be unable to even try to progress since they can’t afford the next tank of modification? Very smart

no, it would just make people be turned away by the game.
including myself.

Because Repair costs, specially in ARB, a mode with not only repair costs above realistic tanks battles but also being pushed into the same level of depth as a Quake II deathmatch is barely standing because:
1- Arcade rewards like garbage
2-Simulator leeches your SL even if you do well.

No, it would just mean more sweaty unsportsmanlike tryhards

Isn’t that exactly what the OP wants? More skilled players.

He is against making the game more difficult in any way.

…just in your head - because gaijin earns the most money with them.

It is basically like irl - just a few pilots/tankers were good and able to get something done - the rest was food for the meat grinder.

The only thing what needs to be changed is the BR setting policy. As long as as variations of SL/RP income from average players is triggering BR changes nothing will change.

The goal should be that the BRs are determined by the best 5-10% of the players.

This would avoid undertiered vehicles AND would avoid kills solely based on vehicle performance and not player skill. As a side effect this would not make playing wt way more balanced than today…

Gaijin needs to make those free backup vehicles not stock. Aint nobody spawning in a second time at 11.0 to use HEAT

Oh and make crewlocks 30 minutes for all vehicles in the lineup. Sick of these one death leaver premium clowns

because gaijin didn’t think that basically havin 1 vehicle per lineup + inexperienced player = bad idea.

Just saw the “Sell 1 3d model for the price of a AAA title”

They can’t even be cannon fodder, they only have 2-3 lives max

You are thinking too much about punishing players without even asking why they are unskilled or bad players. Maybe they are not interested in the game and just want to waste an hour or two, maybe they are just having a bad game, with the unbalanced game, appalling BR system for ranking/balance, bad coding, lag in the system, excessive RNG and just plain old cheating.
It is a very poor gaming experience because of the companies decision to go for maximum profit at all costs, the players are just a resource or commodity to be harvested and just like any resource very little if any thought or concern is applied to it.
To make it even worse is very counter intuitive, it will only push players away, decrease the player base, increase queue times ( a priority concern for Gaijin, imagine having to wait longer to play a poor game), and decrease profits.
Players are not even an afterthought to Gaijin if there are glitches or outright errors in any updates they rarely give any reimbursement and almost say well its your fault/decision to play the game.

TIGER_TANK_1 with antoher amazing post I see

to high on everything

11000 SL for the A21RB of all things comes into mind quickly…

At this point I don’t even understand why we need to grind modules. The actual vehicle grind is long enough. Just throw the new players a bone and remove all vehicle modules, except the ones you’re suppose to toggle on and off.

It’s bad enough they’re inexperienced, then have to also add worse crews, and then on top of that stock vehicles as well.

I agree with a lot of what you day but bringing back the old system is not the way forward. I get frustrated too but you have to be open to some people just not being as good as you or others
