I think that’s impossible. But if I get to keep the old controls while you guys get the option to enable the new ones, I wouldn’t mind. I just don’t believe the devs will actually give us that option
There should be a toggle that allow users to enable or disable “Experimental Driving” system in the settings menu that can only be activated in the main menu. I do not wish to see it implemented like with a cobra button. Regenerative steering as a whole is still very new and the current implementation is also not very accurate to how it should be.
Simple solution:
Have the new mechanic implemented but only toggles when ur using CC to move forwards. its Q and E for me and it has different stages 1-2-3 etc. So what im saying is regen. steering is enabled whem im using cruise control and if im using WASD steering, just disable it.
Also having it toggleable is nightmare in tanks, it should be checking constantly whether im using CC to move or WASD, if im in the CC controls regen. steering is enabled automatically, and i decide to take control i should just simply hit either of the WASD keys to have it disabled. Just like when u press either of the WASD keys disables cruise control right now.
Gaijin, if you will make it a toggle, please force it for simulator battles as it would be a ridiculous toggle, lol. Its like if T-90M had a “reverse rear gear” toggle because players “do not want” to drive -4km/h backwards, but want to drive -70km/h, lol. If a tank irl had no brake steering and had only this one - it should not have a toggle in sim…
Yeah, I was just curious because there was no explanation regarding the number of gears in Gaijin’s news post.
I don’t think the actual in-game implementation is wrong, though.
Jesus… fine, here you have me, Leopard in Tunisia
Anything else?
(Also excuse me for the crashout in the video lmao. I’m just starting to lose patience to see people trying to SABOTAGE the efforts to implement a much needed fix to the game.)
Make it as on/off or toggle and please fix tank side brakes as right now when you press the buttons that you caan assign to tank left/right brake you stop complitly
I agree but think there should be no toggle in realistic either for the same reason
Guys, no caps lock on our forum.
Thanks!
Ok, no caps locks. Have lots of videos of me comparing the old and new steering though.
embed fixed.
Players won’t agree, I think, at most. I would love, ideally, to have it only for RB and SB as well, and a toggle for arcade, but we are where we are.
I bet if players had a vote, they would make realistic flight model a toggle option for air realistic, lol.
No no, I think they meant flight model as in the difference in how aircraft behave between arcade and realistic
Reread what he said, thats not what he meant
That doesn’t effect flight model. It changes the control scheme.
Differential steering systems aren’t exclusive to MBTs. For instance, the S.35 tank ,found at BR 1.3—is a vehicle that historically utilized a differential steering system.
France was actively developing differential steering systems even before the war began, incorporating them into vehicles like the B1 bis.
The M4 Sherman also featured a type of differential steering system. This could potentially make the various Sherman variants across different tech trees much more maneuverable and convenient to use.
Many other vehicles such as late-WW2 British tanks and the Tiger tank also employed differential steering systems.
Flight model =/= control scheme
Churchill and quite a few british tanks also
Edit: apparently the Maus used gasoline-electric transmission which had regenerative steering
In your video, you literally avoided every sharp turn. The few sharp turns you accidentally showed prove just how hard they are to make with this new mechanic. So why didn’t you repeat the route I showed in my video? Ah, let me guess — because you couldn’t do it?
It’s honestly disgusting to watch you lie like this.😤
I just drove randomly across the city for several minutes. I didn’t follow your exact nitpicked route (although I probably drived past that) because I’m not going to be alt-tabbing just to watch your tracing.
I keep throwing more and more and more videos driving across streets and there’s ALWAYS a problem.
“Ah, but Rhine’s streets are too wide, go to Poland!”
“Ah, but Type 10, the tank with better iteration doesn’t count, use Leopard 2, the tank everyone acknowledged to have a flawed iteration!”
“Ah, but Poland isn’t tight enough, do Tunisia!”
“Ah, but that’s not literally the exact route I traced for you!”
“Ah, but you couldn’t execute a 90º turn at 60 km/h, so it’s bad!”
