Is it planned to come to other tanks once it comes to live server?
My whole point was that regenerative steering, ACROSS THE BOARD, could be adjusted so it felt closer to Type 10’s iteration across all MBTs.
Which would be realistic, as there’s videos of Leopard 2s zigzagging cones with great agility BUT without losing speed either.
You never replied to that, as you didn’t now. Instead, you keep talking about how “it must be ditched because else it’s a nerf except for Type 10”.
I like the feature, but maybe add a toggle so that the people who want it can have it, and the people who don’t can keep it as is.
That way both sides win.
This is still an arcade game at its core. Yes it integrates some realism elements but that doesnt change this.
Consider that a large portion of the playerbase wouldnt prefer this new steering system gameplay-wise (as it beats almost a decade of muscle memory), a combination of both old and new system (with the latter receiving further improvements/fixes) would be ideal from a gameplay perspective.
This is a change to the very core of ground gameplay and as such should be a sole improvement. Not a “improves x but y becomes much worse in return”.
The Type 10s regen steering looks amazing, hopefully they can change the Leopard’s so its a bit more responsive, like that
AFAIK all that was/are using it IRL.
We are working to add some additional info to the text.
Hi Stona,
Do you know if other tanks are planned to have this tested on the dev server? Or will this remain with the current selection we have.
e.g. Challenger 2, and the Abrams
Thanks
Is there plans to increase the number of vehicles using it on the dev server for testing?

Unfortunately many people wont read the article, and will get a false impression
Regenerative steering works best in open ground, a comparison of it driving through a forest on regenerative steering vs clutch braking would be much more suitable
Oh so… everything
does this include stuff like Stuart, Sherman, Chaffee? Centurion, Chieftain, Scimitar, Cromwell?
There are a few bugs with how the system functions currently. Steering and power are directly tied together, you cannot steer without using full power which is not correct, you should be able to use brakes, full power or no power whilst steering.
Are there plans to implement proper torque converter mechanics to reduce the amount of gears vehicles have that’d affect the turn radius?
Are there plans to model differences in steering systems? E.g. depending on the system used, there may only be a fixed number of turn-radius’ available, while other transmissions (such as RENK HSWL series; 194, 204, 354 a.o.) feature infinitely variable turn-radius.
That is referring to which vehicles will get it on the live server, I am asking which vehicles will be included in the test on the dev server we currently have.
I’d rather they focus on refining the system before introducing it for testing on more vehicles
People seem to not understand that you can turn tight with regen steering with cruise control or just by slowing down manually (shocking I know). Just put it in 1st CC gear and the vehicle slows down for you while you maintain the turn.
Oh, they understand.
It’s just that they want to still go zooming around streets at 70 km/h pulling 90º drifts instead of considering that maybe that’s not how you drive a 65 ton tank.
Arcade exists if people need these 360 no scopes. Regen steering is long overdue and people just need to accept how it plays and move on
And btw dont let it be another "maneuver mode’ but for tanks. It would be so dumb
I would find it intresting that that here they wanna here the feedback.
But the feedback of turret baskets which i think is 90% negativ gets ignored
