Tbh we don’t need to make it a conmfrontation, both systems can exists at the same time. Those stubborn to learn to use new system will loose out on new possibilities.
Listen, what’s your take on being able to repair a destroyed gun barrel in just 20 seconds?
Regenerative steering does not make game unplayeable unlike realistic reparing you refering too.
This is a bit of an unfair argument considering regen steering just makes the tanks movement different, meanwhile realistic repairs would make the game entirely unplayable
No info, sorry.
That is exactly what we said in the article ;/
The higher the gear, the larger the radius. While the tank turns more sharply at lower speeds, high-speed turns are gradual and wide.
No, you’re wrong. This mechanic makes the game unplayable (especially in cities).
Look, I don’t understand how you expect to engage in combat with this mechanic when even making a simple 90-degree turn is a major challenge.
You are literally asking us to abandon comfortable, intuitive controls in favor of clunky, awful controls just because it’s supposedly "realistic
I can assure you it does not make the game unplayable in cities, I know that because I’ve tried it… ingame… in cities
Spanish Avenger also sent a very good video with the Type 10 driving around a city and it was completely fine
Plese make it toggleable
I want it in game, but it is bad push this without a option for ppl that dont want
Thats your emotional opinion, just slow down and you will be able to turn.
That’s crazy because people argues for ever on the forum on how an APFSDS or armor should perform “accorDinG tO tHe ReaLitY”, and now with a first iteration of implementation of a realistic feature (that can still be improved along the way), nah still to need to do gymkhana on Rhine with my Leopard 2. So we - the community - want realistic implementations we asked for or not ? Do we accept iterations/improvements of this kind of features through various dev server or not ?
Not all realistic features can be fun sure I get that, but for regen steering I’m for it on tanks where the mobility is hindered by the current steering model (look at you Challenger 2).
I think the article should explain that the current implementation has bugs and will be improved, as it stands the modelling is not correct which will put people off!
I’d like people who support the current steering mechanics on the live server to watch this and tell me it’s a good system.
"I've already seen what city fights will turn into. Luckily, I'm not blind.
You should tell me why I should sacrifice convenient, simple, and intuitive controls to support a new mechanic. To achieve what exactly?
You want to sacrifice the maneuverability of 99% of MBTs just for the sake of a couple of Type 10s?
It still degrades the gameplay experience for a large portion of the playerbase if implemented as sole replacement for the current system.
I honestly wouldnt want the current iteration (or anything close to it really, as a lot of work is still necessary to get it to a state where it could realistically be implemented) to replace the live-server system either.
If theres no way to toggle between the systems, then I’d definitely see a decrease in the quality of my gameplay-experience and the same will certainly go for a huge chunk of this playerbase.
“Just get used to it” doesnt cut it as justification in any way, as this is still one of the very core things that make ground gameplay what it is and what people come back to.
You are letting go of the accelerator in the 2nd video. try putting it into CC1
Go tell the console player to make 3 new keybinds to turn in close quarters next please.
This is not a solution whatsoever.
I know, I’m not rooting for it as a sole replacement, I assume you are missing context so I’ll provide it. He already participated in RS discussion in another user-made post and actively ignored when was told nobody wants to force the system on him, yet he continued to root for complete dismissal of the system which is not in good faith.
I personally don’t even want this for realism, I want it because the current steering system is miserable unless you are in a T80BVM or Abrams.
3 new keybinds?
