it should be added to the tanks that have it irl. No need to have a toggle switch, simply use A/E transmission mode to have a tighter radius/better speed retention.
Yes, 100% agree, make it toggleable something that can be turned on/off, because i can see this mechanic could start causing some inconsistencies, that i simply don’t want to deal with, so make it something that can be turned on/off
The game have moved on since it launched over 10 years ago. Planes got more detailed and realistic and we got plenty of new systems while tanks stayed the exact same.
Leopard 2 is not a T-34 that turns with hand cranks or a drift car that swings around as if it was sliding on ice. Watch ANY video featuring Leopard 2 doing 180 and you will realise that it simply cant realistically turn like it does on live rn. T-80 for example is a different story as it functions on a different steering.
It really is the time to move on or switch to arcade

The bane of manual shifting…
How high is the american forum count again?
Those unfamiliar wuth manual might not understand this concept
@AspectOfTheRAGE thats what I was talking about, dude literally just wants others to not have fun. No logic, no argumentation, no compromises, simple spite.
bro really want to regenerative steering not even exist in game, even if a option to him disable it exist…
well, after checking his stats is clear what kind of player he is
Listen, I have a good idea. How about you record another video where you simply drive through the town area of the Tunisia map? Here, I can even draw the route for you.
Here’s a video so you don’t get it wrong

Players for the past decade: Gib regenerative steering nao!!!11!!1!!
Gaijin after the past decade: Dunno, should we add it?
CC is bound by default in the game (E/Q) and in your video you used none of it during actual turns. You can see here how Leopard 2 performs on CC1. Might’ve made your comparison more credible.
Frankly one the biggest problems people might have with it, being unable to turn hard at speed, might be solvable if the left/right brake controls work, atm they just stop the tank entirely
I think it needs adjustment and fixing of some bugs, and should be added to other vehicle families on the dev server (Challenger 2 in particular), but nonetheless it absolutely should be added.
Toggleable doesn’t make sense. We just need an easier way to make hard brakes at high speeds (if that is indeed a realistic option), whether it’s improved keybinds or sth else.
What used to be simple and convenient will now force players to manually shift gears.
Why should I make controlling the vehicle harder for myself?
By the way, do you want to take part in an experiment?
??? Noone is telling you to shift gears manually. Cruise Control is not manual gearbox
With regenerative Steering implemented gaijin should remove the stabilizer feature that overrides turret rotation speed.
Especially the later t series can throw the hull 180°/s but keep the turret steady pointed at the same bearing. Fixing this longstanding bug (“feature”) would bring a more realistic enviroment to war thunder as both slow turning regenerative steering and break steering tanks would have this restriction making snapping around much more difficult

“будем решать её судьбу, вводить - не вводить, вводить в каком то режиме сложности…”
“we will decide it’s fate, introduce - not introduce, introduce in some difficulty mode…”
My best assumption is difficulty modes like for plane controls.
You’re literally suggesting that I micromanage gear shifting instead of just playing and enjoying the game.
As you can see, it’s different from what you said.
Can you please edit your post then. What you said earlier can be misleading and was not confirmed yet.
Thanks!
I’ve had a look at it and I don’t think it looks very good either. But I agree with some of the other comments — keep it in the game, just give us an On/Off toggle.
Some people will probably like it, while others won’t, so giving players the choice seems like the best option.
