With Greece coming to Israel, what’s even the point of the Merkava if its armour stays like this?

What was stopping gaijin from buffing the armor 4 years ago where Greece wasn’t even being considered for Israel? Literally nothing, people just need a scapegoat to blame their issues.

what im wondering is if gaijin even realizes what theyre doing here. is this basically them giving up on fixing the merkavas and just taking the easy way out by adding a really strong leopard instead? im not blaming the greek subtree for the merkavas being broken, thats completely on gaijin. im just worried that once israel has stuff like the 2a6hel at top tier and maybe even a greek equivalent to the mk3 further down, gaijin will have even less reason to go back and actually fix the merkavas. if thats the direction theyre taking then i honestly wonder what the point of making israel its own tree was in the first place

The Merkava design was never design for tank vs tank but for urban combat against Cold War atgm and RPG-7 in Libanon. In WT you would not encounter npc infantry with RPG-7 or Cold War atgm firing at you from enemy team. Gaijin adding Greece tech sub tree would reviving Israel tech trech for new and veteran players.

if this was the reason they would have add it 4 years ago

Why, need i to go screenshot 290 message thread and count to you? Its just stupid, it shows how you fail to see the problem :3

the whole reason the merkava even became what it is was because of israels experience in the massive tank battles and the heavy crew losses they suffered. that directly led to the mk1 and its focus on crew survivability, so saying the merkava was never really designed with tank vs tank combat in mind just doesnt make much sense

not really, gaijin changes direction all the time and subtrees are way more common now than they were 4 years ago. im not saying they created the greek subtree specifically to avoid fixing the merkavas, im saying now that they have an easy way to strengthen israel with other tanks, they have even less reason to go back and fix the actual merkava issues

he is just rage baiting ignore him

Fair enough, if you have such knowledge on how Gaijin works, then you should be easy to explain what’s the capital gain/loss in making the new vehicle from the update weaker?

Which to be fair the Merkava in the first screenshot was in the development server, but I don’t think that this vehicle is supposed to be weak as it’s now, specially in the turret.

The Community Bug Reporting System (CBRS) has reports dated over four years I’m pretty sure, on accepted status if I’m not wrong. And for the most part accepted bug reports are just consideration not an actual proof that it will be fixed. Making the tech tree popular with returning veteran players and new players because of the new sub-tech tree without fixing the other existing issues is just putting duct tape over the hole while the boat will still sink.

Hopefully you can bring us some data to back your saying that not fixing a vehicle instead of just fallacy, by changing just values of armor will take up that much money, poor Gaijin work so hard just to rename and add new roundels to existing vehicle, if they dare to fix Merkava’s armor Gaijin may go bankrupt—but no, new vehicles is ok.
