But I’m looking forward to see more boxer variants. How many of them are there?

Every time I search it up I see different kinds and I can’t figure out which is which

There are quite a few, mainly prototypes but still a good number.

Idk how many exactly there are, the Boxer T40 however is my favourite;

safe to say vilkas is pretty good, a 40mm, RCT40 would be even crazier

No, they remved that option if there was one.
I still can upload it as a zip file.

Does anyone have any info on whether the BMP-1 SP-2 had a stabilizer? I’m working on a GDR subtree idea using the TT generator website and am trying to figure out what the differences between the variants are.

Ngl I’ve never heard of that designation. I can however give you my gdr subtree file if you want it

Yeah, im pretty sure they were just designated as BMP-1s but the object number would change.

wikipedia’s version of the variants

BMP (Ob’yekt 765Sp1) (Sp stands for spetsifikatsiya – specification) – An early type with a shorter nose section and a larger angled plate at the top of the hull line. The two tool stowage boxes on the fenders were removed. The swim vanes were modified by reducing the number of vanes from seven to four and the fender profile was raised nearer to the horizontal. The fume extraction ports on the hull roof to the rear of the turret were moved outwards and reoriented to point toward the rear of the vehicle. The single torsion bar used to spring the rear roof troop hatches was replaced by a twin torsion bar system. The firing ports on the side were moved up into the armor plate, giving the weapons used in the ports a higher degree of elevation. The vehicle weighs 12.6 tonnes. It was built from 1966 to 1969. It is sometimes incorrectly known as the BMP-A by some Western sources. NATO gave it the designation BMP Model 1966 .[1][3]

  • BMP-1 (Ob’yekt 765Sp2)– The standard production version weighs 13 tonnes. It was built from 1969 to 1973. Vehicles produced from the mid-1970s had a higher hull with more space inside as well as a different shaped nose section which also made it 20 cm longer, giving it an improved swimming capability. The triangular air intake behind the turret was replaced by a circular telescopic snorkel which was raised when the vehicle was afloat. The roof hatches were also slightly rearranged, the air intake located to the front left side of the driver’s station was removed and the NBC sensor cover was moved inwards, closer to the turret. To the left of the turret was a prominent NBC filter cover and the PKM port was redesigned. NATO gave it the designation BMP Model 1970.[1]
    • BMP-1 (Ob’yekt 765Sp2) was equipped with a stabilization system for its 73 mm main gun, a semi-automatic guidance for the 9S428 anti-tank-guided-missile (ATGM) launcher, an improved NBC system, a more powerful engine, an improved automatic loader and improved night vision devices.[1]
      • BMP-1 (Ob’yekt 765Sp3) – A slightly improved and 200 kg heavier version of Ob’yekt 765Sp2. Unlike its predecessors it had OG-15V HE-Frag rounds in its ammunition load. It was fitted with the new 1PN22M2 sight (with an additional tangent scale OG to be used with HE-Frags OG-15V rounds) instead of the 1PN22M1 sight as well as with a traffic signal system (six marker lights and one stop light). The M3 autoloader was removed. It was built from 1973 to 1979. NATO gave it the designation BMP M1976

It’s very confusing, there are a bunch if kinds different variants I want to add to the TT but it’s harder to figure out which is what BR or which is worth it, here is my understanding:

BMP-1 (SP-1): basic BMP-1 already in game
BMP-1 (SP-2): identical externally, has stabilized?
BMP-1P (Early):

Spoiler

according the page 8 of Fahrzeug review #13:

“This equipment was installed by the NVA starting in 1988. The 92 BMP-1Ps (including twelve K1s, three K2s, and three K3s) delivered in 1988 were also delivered without PALR launchers. Retrofitting took place in the GDR.”

Pretty much this would be in the configuration the BMP-1s were on delivery, no ATGMs but would have smokes. I also assume they’d have the SP-2’s stabilizer.

BMP-1P (1990):

Spoiler

BMP-1Ps that received their ATGMs + new side skirts from the BMP-2 done by rwn neubrandenburg. I chose the Name BMP-1P (1990) as that’s the date mentioned in the photo

Also, I’ve managed to gain access to at least 2 copies of Fahrzeug Profiels Via sketchy Russian pirating from 2013, unfortunately it’s like the 2 most useless issues, light trucks and BMPs.

Send your GDR file, id like to see what you have added :)
