The argument is they’ve made HE more powerful by increasing the number of fragments, and so the fragments are finding the holes that were always there in the damage models before. And HK Reporter suggests the holes are much more common than people knew and will need to be fixed ship by ship now.
If HK Reporter says that’s currently their main effort on fixing this, I have no reason to disbelieve him.
I mean that doesn’t sound good either, then these issues have always been there but because of the lower fragmentation they just weren’t hit as frequently, but they were still hit.
Still just revert the changes and fix the ships before bringing it back, people don’t want to wait 5 years for them to fix the hole one at a time for the next 5 years.
I’d be more worried about the player disconnex if I were them. They said they could do this now cause improved processing allows them to increase to 3,000 projectiles in the air, but a lot of people appear to be crashing out on otherwise reliable servers.
I’ve been playing small boats, where presumably the projectile count being processed tends to be lower, and having zero problems (knock on wood)… so far.
They don’t even try to make FCS aimbot less OP, make islands taller, protect the spawns with wrecks/island or even add more spawn locations. They just don’t add anything but new ship!
They’ve already remodelled several ships in only a couple days, and rolled out a patch on a weekend day, which we virtually never see; this will not take “five years”.
Fixing the randomly-penning-armour bug and can’t-repair bug will solve most current issues anyway.
That is not the issue people are talking about here. This has to do with the new HE physics absolutely breaking the game, as now even slight HE damage to any ship absolutely destroys it. I’m seeing destroyers get one shot by HE, seeing frigates that, in the prior patch, were pretty well defended against 20mm HE spam thanks to their size, compartmentalization, and hull strength be utterly ripped to shreds in MOMENTS of spawning. In most cases right now, it is nearly impossible to move out of spawn, it’s just respawn, get shot at, die almost instantly, repeat, for ALL levels of naval. This is not a small armour bug, as this is occuring whether or not the ship is armoured. This is a severe HE damage problem that is causing ANY HE hits to essentially tear ships apart. As well, there is a repair bug where even after repairing, parts continue to damage and redamage themselves, causing nonstop repairing to occur, making it impossible to actually repair your ship.
Revert the HE/damage physics patch, get naval back to how it played prior to the patch, and then push it out when it has ACTUALLY been fixed and playtested. As of right now, this whole event is an utter farce and insult to naval players.
They had the patch go live, had to wait to hear about issues, had to isolate what those issues are (there are multiple overlapping issues at play), then actually do the work of changing the models, get all the into a version that can be pushed live, and had them run through all the platforms’ approvals. And that’s a simplification. This is very fast, WT players are just spoiled by being used to at least a patch per week, often more.
That aside, the relevant takeaway here is that we got a patch on a weekend.
All they have to do is revert the changes no one asked for, fix all the things that are broken and try again.
Calling people spoiled for not wanting to put up with this because Gaijin refuses to do QA and push changes no one asked for is silly… it’s 2024, there is no reason why a broken mess should be pushed to a live server and be kept on there for as long as it takes for Gaijin to fix whatever spaghetti code they broke, at the exact same time you’re forcing people to play naval with the BP and you have an ‘’‘event’‘’ if you can even call it that, on the exact same day.
It’s time consuming, but the good thing is that all ships get a chance to check their armor.
There was a mention of Haruna in the patch notes, but is she not included in this fix?
Exactly. We’re not asking for them to fix the issues in a day. We’re asking them to roll BACK the broken as hell patch until they CAN fix all these issues THEN roll it out again. Right now, naval is nearly unplayable, BBs are being bodied by HE spam from frigates, coastal ships are basically destroyed the moment anyone sniffs at them, whole team wipes are happening in seconds sometimes.
I’ve done both the event stars so far in one day for each. Several of my usual lineups are on the dockyard wall, meanwhile I have concentrated purely on those that are capable of throwing HE as fast as possible. The Japanese 4.3 hasn’t sent as much action in months.
As a modern ship lover, most ships I’ve like to play have modern quick firing gun. So I wouldn’t gonna play naval until the glitch is fixed, don’t want to ruin others naval experience.
As a high-rejection ship player, this version most problem is “losing connection” , 0 session could waiting. In actual game play experience, most key target is the movement behind the mountain. Shell enhance buff players such me, but terrible network ruined my highlight shows.
Give it up for day 4 of the repair bug. Anything damaged will never become repaired more than 1hp away from being destroyed. Plus it means constant repairs.
If this was in ground forces, there would of been a riot after the second day.
