ASRAAM supremacy then(yes its underperforming in game) :)

Not necessarily, more fin AOA only means more pull if you consider the same fins, moment arm, and missile body.

This isnt an “X missile better than Y missile cuz muh fin AOA is higher!” its only relevant to the MICA.

I wouldn’t be surprised if all missiles are limited in aoa like r-73 (actual missiles aoa not fin aoa) r73 for example is 40 degrees

Spoiler

If they do what I think they’ll do and what I kinda hope they do, which is require LOBL, it wont really matter too much

that would be terrible Imo, for example missiles like r74m2 go from full spherical engagement to only ±60 degrees if only lobl is modeled

would probably fix TVC missiles spinning out

or atleast help it

I mean r-73 has an aoa limiter and it doesn’t fix its spinning out issues… I think tvc missiles r just cooked

Twas a joke… aha.

The limiter is a hard authority limiter thats entirely digital. IE, its either on or off for if the missile tries to turn more. Unfortonately, inertia happens to be a thing that exists, so it often swings past the limit.

the current R-27ET in game is modeled with the early seeker correct?

yes, i think it can get same type of seeker as the r73

would be nice for close range engagements since it would probably get the same improved IRCCM on the R-73, although i would much rather see the improved OGS A3-10 seeker tbh

a R-27ET seeker buff would be welcomed when the next get IR missiles arrive tbh, since USSR is the only tree in game that wont get an IIR missile if im not mistaken

russia went with dual band seekers instead of IIR, so they work simiar in their IRCCM to a stinger

They dont have IIR, but they have a reasonable equivalent and I think its reasonable to assume that they wont actually add IIR. We’ll get what we’ve got on the IRIS-T, Aim-9X and Python-5s already on SAMs which from my understand is basically IRCCM+.

Knowing Gaijin, the Dual-mode seeker thingy that the soviets have instead of IIR will somehow be better than “IIR”

imo also better for gameplay IMO, i dont want to play against undefeatable seekers personally

should work more or less like the stinger irccm from my understanding

Maybe… There is a fine line though, which they fail miserably so far with missiles like 9Ls and 9Ms, both are stupidly easy to defeat. They should require at least a little effort to defeat, like for 9Ls, not being in reheat. I dont want ASRAAMs being 1 flare defeated. They should actually be a serious threat

2 way datalink ir missiles would be pretty cool, and would overcome seeker head limitations as it would just relock to whatever you’re locking. So even if you flare and the seekerhead changes target, by hard locking the target the seekerhead would reposition itself onto the target.
Currently the only missiles that work like this are the aim 7p and the r27r/er.
So 9x blk 2, mica ir/ng and r74m2 would work like that, unsure of other missiles
