Wind sound is too loud

OP wants to cheat in sim by flying with his jet’s cockpit open so he can LISTEN for other jets while going mach 1.

I’m talking about closed cockpit.

well thats different then for jets but u also said this

Yes. On open cockpit effect is very noticed. But new loudness affects closed cockpits too.

And somehow it has frequencies combination, that affects my inner ear snail, and makes me wanna
vomit after 10-15 minutes of fly.

It’s sad that there are losers who bother coming all the way to Air Sim just to deliberately hunt enemies by engine sound or lean out of the cockpit in VR. Even a streamer I happened to see was sticking their head outside the cockpit. Those guys are the absolute lowest losers.

Easy fix, close your cockpit

Try taking a ride in a civilian helicopter. You’ll understand why everyone needs headsets to talk to each other. This is something Gaijin got right—it reflects real life.

It recently got increased for open cockpits due to players flying with cockpit open in sim to be able to hear enemies and missiles (which you wouldn’t really be able to do IRL at those speeds).

I just tested a few jets in testflight. For me personally the engine is louder than the wind sounds and to even hear the wind at all while in a closed cockpit i have to decrease the engine power to very low levels.

Are you feeling it’s to loud in any specific aircraft? What are your sound settings?

Not 100% sure, but I think he talks about the new sounds that were introduced in Sky Odyssey, which I also find very exageratted and annoying.

They are better now, but during first dev they vere extreme and really very annoying - see my bug report abouzt it here: [Dev] Annoying new high-G / wind sound effect // Gaijin.net // Issues

Well:

I’ve had the chance to fly in a Hunter T.68 once, and no, the sound of the wind is nothing like what we have in game now, certainly not that strange “clattering” sound that may in time destroy the speakers of my headset…

Open cockpit vehicles like oh-58D in sim. I believe IRL pilots of such helis have soundsupressing headset.
In my opinion sound settings for open cockpit crafts are imbalanced.

This is my sound settings.

Yes. Clapping sounds. I adjusted all my sound volumes, seems better now, but, when I fly oh-58D at speed like 200+kph, it has clapping sounds of wind, striking my ears. They appear once in 2 seconds.

IRL I moved in a car with such speed with open window, and there is no such strange sounds, that make me feel disgust.

May be sound should be more steady, uniform, without this clapping noises once in 2 seconds.

Also I fly F4e for couple of hours. It is always some low frequency bass sounds (of air density irregularities I think). Kinda annoying.

I think the pilot should start slowly taking damage when at subsonic speeds with the cockpit open

If it’s realistic of course

No, gaijin just needs to change the audio balance to make the wind quieter and better without making it reveal other sounds.

We also have open cockpit aircraft capable of going 400kmh+, as well as pics of IRL jets flying without canopies for testing.

I mean if they added birdstrikes to the game…

I’m waiting for the news to break: “Video games cause hearing damage in players.”

That would be great publicity for the Gaijin brand.

But all joking aside, the sound really is way too loud.

I’m not even bothering too much about the volume, but the quality of it sounds like a broken speaker membrane and I always fear it is indeed broken…

I agree. But I think they could consider adding a fine-tuning option for the wind sound.

Do you think it’s feasible for the player to adjust it?
