I haven’t heard anything about the roadmap for a while and the community would definitely like to see what Gaijin’s plans are for 2025. Additionally it would be nice if the updated roadmaps are easily found somewhere on the forum. I always seem to find the old roadmaps instead of the updated relevant ones

Boring and just bad maps that Gaijin has no set strategy for, its either you run around and nothing happens at medium tier or at top tier you’re totally defenceless against AGMs and big guided bombs? So sad.
All of these things aren’t even accepted to say on the forum without getting backlash from bots, much less Gaijin approving of a fix

ADD A SKILL BASED RANDOM REALISTIC BATTLES
base it on elo points which when you leave a match you get max penalty you do mediocre you are at the medium stage with less 1dl’s and top play vs top
that will make the teams more balanced which would also make some nations like us with very bad win ratio to bump it up a bit…
anybody who says that skill ranked won’t work i guess they play only with a single tank lineup breaking the game fun for other players on the server thank you :*
SBMM will not work in WT, and it will lead to more frustration.
the skill based MM will be at best extremely hard for the newer players and we are already getting punished through basically constant uptiers and just very punishing/stressful gameplay
Just today I played with Maus and got killed by T55s with APFSDS’, Is that fair? I mean my KDR is actually decent but because I wasn’t necessarily stressed to perform rather than just play as retirement, but imagine if through already the very punishing SL gains and gameplay I would also lose rank like this is some mil sim game, so the majority would again get burned because of a minority, that can’t and shouldn’t happen
War Thunder is plagued to implode, there’s no way with so many premiums that any measure would actually fix, they might as well delete all premiums and it wouldnt be a fix, why? Because most people don’t even get to top tier in less than years of playing and people are leaving the game at light speed compared to how many advance through the ranks, the people that are already high ranks just leave over time.
So in no way should I also get punished for the total incompetence of others, Yes I can’t even fathom the number of times JUST TODAY we would have won just if anyone had a brain to support me in different positions and etc, but the game wouldn’t get better and only the better players would actually get punished, the stupid players that can’t even get to rank 3 are just buying premium, premium will 100% end up being a gateway through the ranking.
If the game would have been skill based from the start it could have worked probably, but anything more than just balancing the teams on number of tanks or Lvl can’t help much and even these other ones aren’t much good.
SBMM just would not work in WT. There is too many layers within layers that the playerbase is fragmented between, for our playerbase size to support it.
If you have (Generic FPS / Racing game) with small number (sometimes even just one) game mode, that everyone is compatible for, it’s easy.
In WT, There’s just so many layers. You’ve got 10 nations. You’ve got 4 vehicle categories. You’ve got like what… 34(?) different BR’s for tanks? 40(?) different BR’s for aircraft ? 19(?) different BR’s for ships?. You’ve got people make multi nation squads & conflicting map bans which decreases compatibility even further. Even if you ignore the dozen+ modes the playerbase is fragmented between, even just making SBMM work in one mode would lead to astronomical queue times.
We can’t even get BR decompression because they worry about queue times too much. There’s no chance they’re going to have us sit in the queue for 20 minutes, whilst the MM checks both sides have an even number of tryhards compatible to play one another.
Just have to wait and see, they may mention something before or during Jan, or Feb 2025

There will be no roadmap for 2025. They will keep doing devblogs about specific features added to the game, but you will see them shortly before major updates (just how it works now).
They had so many delays from their previous roadmaps that they decided this format was causing too many problems for them. They said the roadmap may return in the future (2026+), but I really doubt it. They probably just wrote this to make the news less disappointing for players who liked previous roadmaps. Just look at how many words they used to say: “No, there will be no 2025 roadmap”.

we are saved, you just gotta pay yearly 40$ just for the game to be enjoyable, i would rather pay 100$ for a game once but have guaranteed enjoyment, i cant wait for someone to make a better WT

new player or bad player vs other bad player on the same br range as their opponent (bad player or new) like how will they have harder?
you would not get punished by total incompetence of other actually you play well (some factors in the new ranking system would play out not only win ratio) to set you in a =/- your skill lvl if you play good it will be higher and they you would meet same skilled players and you could compete ^^
you would need to loose a lot of matches to drop down to low skill / 1dl lvl
I believe they stated they may release roadmaps in the future but not for the coming year which is understandable they’ve released a large amount of QOL over the past two years. This doesn’t mean there won’t be further QOL features introduced, they just don’t have a definitive set of “we want to get this done this is when we expect to do it.”
I think the only thing that hasn’t been added now is the entrenching rework? I don’t remember whether this was suggested to the community and canceled or it is still being worked on. I remember the examples they showed were very rudimentary and immersion breaking. It would be interesting to see current entrenching devices simply be ramped up in effect so they make deeper cover the be more immediately useful.
The feature will always be niche regardless especially with how they have continued to design maps.
Lets see from this years roadmaps:
Failiure #1 there was not an autumn-to-winter roadmap.
#2 helicopter damage models, largely not present in
#3 Inventory items cant be recycled into something else yet, we still cant dump the useless wagers and discounts we wont ever use
#4 destruction replay screen has no mini card from who shot you and the shot replay in hanger is barebones and not quite fully functional, shows how stupid inconsistent damage is in game tho.
#5 crew effects seemed to have been scrapped but is still a failure to the map
hey they still have three days to add all of the things meant to have been added by august. or a few things promised after the mass backlash in last years summer. Im sure they wont fall short on their promises anymore
Public Squads: Afaik wasn’t implemented
Fuze Control: I might have a smooth brain but I didn’t see much of that implemented
APHE Rework: Scrapped after voting iirc
Replenishment zones & trenches: Most we got was the little ammo crate TDs and SPAA get to make
Ban Notification: Not added afaik
- Most these aren’t much important as opposed to more pressing issues but just wanted to mention them seeing as how much simpler they would’ve been to implement
This is precisely why this community doesn’t deserve roadmaps, and unfortunately this is common to most gaming communities.
Ignoring literally everything that was added just to list that they didn’t implement:
- literally a thing you made up
- something that is implemented, and to the most important vehicles, but not all yet
- a bottom-of-the-barrel feature only “useful” to players too lazy to press two buttons to unlock the hundreds of thousands of SL they’re sitting on
- a tiny thing one really has to scrape to find
- not adding a thing the community voted against
And then coating all of this in smug snark. Yeah, no more roadmaps.
they put 80% of their team to just focus on designing player stat card, which you might accidentally click couple times a year
