Will the typhoon be getting Meteor missiles in the next major update?

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a plane to be modeled more realistically. That’s the reason we all play this game for our favorite planes. I want these changes to happen for the typhoon if something similar can be done for other nations.

I imagine they will add the meteor when they add modern long range ARH for other nations. The 120 is a medium range missile not long range like a meteor. We will probably see the R-77m at some point too

These are the MINIMUM modifications that would be REQUIRED to bring poorly UNDERPERFORMING United Kingdom planes to be on par with current RUSSIAN BIAS.

Russia does not need buffs. They need their airplanes to be modeled accurately. Their RWR should not work at the same time as their radars and the Su-34 shouldn’t even HAVE RWR.

The real capabilities of the Typhoon are IMPOSSIBLE to model because it is HIGHLY CLASSIFIED. Therefore my proposal is actually very conservative and would make the game truly realistic.

Namaste, peace be upon you brother.
Make love not war.

There’s nothing wrong to want things to be depicted realistically as long as it doesn’t interfere too much with game balance. Similar changes could indeed be applied for other nation’s aircrafts but the game isn’t ready for those yet. Implementing them unilaterally next update would just be a dumb move balance wise and advocating for all of this at the moment is probably as dumb if not dumber.

Edit : AMK isn’t final at all and would basically unable the use of the gun in its current development state, so its addition would be counter productive and borderline fiction (if the gun is made available).

Time for Indians to integrate Meteors to their MKI’s so that the SM and SM2 are technically capable carriers😭

You forgot to state that half of those features should NOT be applied to the german EFT for reasons.

Trolling appart, all of these changes (except the BOL non sense) will be applied to the german EFT if they ever come to the game (bar the ASRAAM since the EF-2000 uses the IRIS-T). The ECRS MK.1 still is supposed to have very potent ECM capability as well.

high hopes

The ECRS MK.1 situation isn’t that bad anyway, the lack of documentation just lead to a pretty random move. The lack of a PIRATE IRST system isn’t that big of a problem outside of sim either.

Only the features the Germans tested should NOT be applied to their plane.

Maybe in real life, but in-game the best missiles are the ones that pull well off the rail and have short time to target at close range. If the Meteor cannot match or exceed the MICA or R-77-1 in these areas the meteor is just going to get notched because LARP BVR only really kills the clueless players.

Either they model things realistically and balance via BR or they model things for the sake of balance. You can’t do both and you certainly can’t claim to do the former whilst actually doing the latter.

Things like BOL though needs to be fixed, especially as it adversely affects so many aircraft

It can be used with the gun, this has already been confirmed

The finalised upgrade was confirmed that it will not unable the use of the gun but funny thing is that the final production upgrade kit hasn’t been revealed yet. So, again, it would be fictional based on the few prototypes shown that DON’T have this feature.

Iirc, the official presentation on it a few months ago stated it was, that is what I’d base it upon if/when we get to the point of needing AMK

BOL could use a fix indeed, I never really said the opposite but again advocating for the addition of the Meteor in response to the already kind of underwhelming AIM-120D is just completely ridiculous.
