Thailand is said to be getting the Gripen E/F in 2029 and I think Japan shouldn’t get it. It would ruin a big reason to grind Swedish top tier if you mostly play air. Just looking at top tier Sweden has the Gripen, F18, and F16. Japan has an su30, F18, MiG29, F15, F2, F5, F16, AND the Gripen. It doesn’t seem right to give Japan an even better Gripen, at the same time it makes sense that Japan would get it. It would be after the Gripen C in the TT.
Like Japan has everything Sweden does and also a BUNCH of stuff on top. What do yall think should Japan get the Gripen E?
Vehicles being in tech trees doesn’t “ruin” other tech trees.
Otherwise you’d see no one playing USA’s F-15s & F-16s.
More options for players is always a net good.

This is the same for everyone that sells their aircraft for export. You can find plenty of F-15s, 16s, and 18s on trees other than USA, and in the near future a lot of countries will have identical F-35s to each other. China arguably has better Su-30s at some points, and there will even be a Rafale outside france.
In any case sweden players have already been enjoying Gripen E for a good while now, while thailand hasn’t received theirs IRL yet. I think being a few years “behind” is fine as a tradeoff.
I want the Thai Gripen E. It’s a cool plane and offers a lot of air to ground ordnance.
I agree more options are a good thing but what’s the point in grinding Sweden once Japan gets the Gripen E? After the Gripen it’ll be the F35 that’s added. Japan will get that too though so why would you ever grind Sweden if you only play air? You’re literally wasting your time. Every country needs to be worth it in a way. Like Israel is way less of a grind than America so if you just want the F15 super quick that means its worth it. France has the Rafale. Italy has MiG29, F16, EF, and Gripen C. Great Britain has Gripen and F18 too. There’s just no point in playing Sweden.

I think that’s wrong. Japan can’t offer anything more modern outside of the F-2 which struggles a lot in-game and F-35A and F-35B probably only in fighter configuration but that’s on the very far future which we are uncertain if Japan will be receiving a 5th-generation fighter by late 2026.
JAS39E would certainly improve that situation, personally I think that’s vastly superior to the Su-30MKM which is a good airplane regardless but nothing better than a bit of variety and anything over a R-77-1 mounted in a sluggier airframe and inferior PESA radar.
Yet we have to consider that’s certainly copy and pasted content, I would prefer original stuff, and the 5th-generation content might be happening before a possible JAS39E even comes to thought for the japanese tech tree.
There’s more to a nation than top tier.
The US will always have the best versions of those aircrafts though. Plus the US always has cool event vehicles other nations don’t get nearly as much. China is the better nation to grind compared to Russia. China gets 2 good F16, M2k, 2 J10, J11, J15 and itll get J16. Russia has a couple good mig29s and best su30 and eventually su35 but China is definitely the better country between the 2. And the Rafale going to Israel kinda sucks for France but I think France is still good enough to warrant playing anyway.
Ofc there is but I’m saying it’ll lead to less new players picking that nation and Gaijin will just not care about that nation as much and not put in as much effort into making it more fun to play and adding stuff.
That’s fair and honestly I get what you mean but Japan isnt lacking in the game rn. The su30 definitely isn’t the best but it’s still decent, same for F18, and the F15. Japan has so much more to offer and none of the planes are bad just not the best.
