Why when i under 60m or even under 40m fox 3 still getting me?

like why when i flying low and have maw fox 3 still killing? so everyone who sad fly low lie to me?

you need to fly low and multipath/notch with only chaff.

Flying under 50m will cause Multipath. You should know however, that multipathing doesn’t keep you 100% safe , as missiles fired from certain angles might still splash/proxy on you.

Also MAW only tells you if a missile is coming, it doesn’t do anything to stop it.

but what to then?

Flying at an angle, and/or doing S-maneuvers in the general direction of the missile is the most effective method.
Not 100%, cause people could’ve launched on you at shorter ranges when they were 9000+ meters high, but it is the most effective.

but what about that certain hit range in the radar, the 100% hit area?

Fly at around 30m (this works best for me most times) and notch and chaff (you dont need to chaff as much but you should still chaff)

IMO multipathing is the worst way to defeat missiles since it puts you in such a disadvantageous position letting people above you where you cant see and unless the map is perfectly flat, maintaining right altitude takes too much focusing instead of maintaining good situational awareness and other things.

if you go to youtube and search for ‘‘how to evade fox 3 in warthunder’’ there is plenty of good information in there that i could not even start to describe well enough in text.

more indepth also discussing multipathing:

If missile is fired from above, multipath effect gets nullified. You should combine multipathing with 3-9 and chaff usage for maximum success chance.

Splash damage or the enemy launched a missile from above
Also, you want to be at 30m ralt for best chances when multipathing

40m is too high, 60m is definitely too high

Even so, avoid multipath. It’s a gamble mechanic that relies on what is basically RNG to work.

Learn to notch, when done properly, a notch is 100% reliable unlike multipath

Only consider using MP if the person who is shooting you is also at MP height, otherwise assume it will fail and so rely upon other defensive measures. But even then, there are ways too mitigate MP

Hopefully in the near future, MP will be removed or at least reduced further

Yep, mp is pretty much only for emergencies such as when you have no chaff or completely messed up your positioning and are getting attacked from too many directions

When forcing a df against someone co-alt you can also try multipath

Yeah, i’ve succesfully used it many times to defend against an incoming missile, but its highly situational. Especially as most of the time my usual alt for anything not a ground attacker is 10k ft+. And even where MP has defeated the missile, I was usually also notching and chaffing at the same time, not worth the risk

Yep, I usually sit at 6-7km (yes, literally) and multipathers are pretty easy to smack nowadays.
Especially with IR missiles or datalinked Fox-3’s with AESA planes

yeah, I do much the same, though does feel like in the past few months something has changed with SARH and ARH in extreme top down, they seem to miss more than they use to

I try to avoid extreme top-down shots

Too extreme and the multipather just notches your missile.
In such situations a 9M/AAM-3 works insanely well

I find 9M can sometimes be more unreliable at the moment, waaaaay too easy to flare.

The only times 9M failed was when the enemy was firing missiles, there were a lot of it signatures in the area (flares, missiles, other planes) or I overestimated how much the missile could pull (it doesn’t pull like an R-73 unfort)

Multipathing is straight up RNG. Doesn’t matter where its fired from either. GL
