Why was the F-15E/I nerfed after just one day?

Just proves the point, if not desperate, why would a naval missile be air borne.

And? You only need 1 AIM-174 to win a 1v1 engagement since it outranges anything currently in service, to the point where you need an AWACS to actually use it’s full range.

as i said, same goes for this missle

but i am not suprised that you guys immediatly go crying around it once pointed out that US propably is coming to a darker era in a2a

No, it doesn’t. Meteor and PL15 has similar range (250km+).

The AIM-174 is in active service, it is not in development.

The AIM-174 has a 250+ nautical mile range my guy, not KM, the meteor and PL15 have half the stated range of the AIM-174 and the standard ERAM.

ERAM can not hit targets out side 200 km lol, it is surface to air. PL15 is around 200km.
250 nmi is against ground/surface targets.

as i said learn reading, the aim 174 like the newer aim 260 will not be easily modelled and come with multiple problems

at least try to read stuff for once and dont just splurt out the first thing u think

Yeah but aim 174 will be launched from a jet already moving pretty fast, at altitude ideally

Yes, but concessions made by aircraft radar vs ship radar is also present.
But saying twice the range of PL15 is a massive stretch.

The minimum listed range per the USN is 130 NMI, thats 240km my guy, with raytheon stating 250 NMI, and given the earlier SM-2ER Block IV has already shot down targets at 200 NMI I’d wager the missile that is the SM-2ER Block IV but better in every single way can beat an older generation standard missile from 1999.

And you dont think such will impact the meteor, PL-15, or any other extremely long range AAM?

All of our ARH AAMs are already all sharing the exact same seeker, I expect the AIM-174 to be a mega Fakour 90, and as such I expect it to do well since the Fakour 90 already runs the fade of everything.

welp
superhornet isnt really fast
god bless tomcat…

they will, but to a lesser extend, meteor as example 1997 and went into full use 2016.
there is way more known and information about it thats a fact, turn it like you want

and still the aim 174 is heavily restricted on the actual aircrafts who uses it so gl with that as well and no awacs either

Reminder, it is anti ship.

SM2-ER never did, the navy only said ‘it broke records’ not we managed to kill sth from 200nmi out.

REminder, that is SARH. RIM174 (consequently AIM174) are first listed in service in 2009. AIm174 was a result of AIM260 being significantly slower in advancement than expected.

So we wished, but its gone. I think Iran still runs some for training, otherwise, tomcats are no more.

Anti-ship is a tertiary mode of all standard missiles, the SM-6 an ABM missile first and foremost, followed by an AA missile and then a surface / land attack missile.

Got a source for that, because the USN said they did and I’m privy to take the word of the USN over yours.

And? the SM-2ER Block IV is a 1999 IOC missile the RIM-174 was in IOC in 2013. To that same end, no the AIM-174 has active and SARH terminal homing with command and INS midcourse guidance, it is not SARH only.

State plz, I only saw guess work based off a statement where it ‘makes history’ by breaking longest range ever.

Ah nope, I asked you for a source saying otherwise, once again, I’m siding with the secdef and USN’s claim of 200-250 nmi+.

Where, US navy only stated 130 nmi effective range against air targets, and only against surface targets using ballistic trajectory can it reach 540km.

When I saw the title I just had to look. I found exactly what I expected.

From what I know F-15E was breaking the laws of physics, that’s why it was nerfed.

What seeker does the aim-174b use?
