Why USS Cyclone is br 3.7?

It’s two 25mm that have mediocre damage, burst capacity, ammo belt capacity, reload speed, range and protection. If it was able to launch stingers I would understand but it is objectively a useless boat as it faces boats that outgun and outclass it; literally there are sub-chasers with almost 3 times its displacement.

Not mentioning its open top bridge and exposed radio station. destroy them 2 times and you’re dead… ppl doesn’t even try to shoot other parts.

Yeah, it’s terrible. Kind of a victim of bad coastal tree balancing to be honest really.

Inb4 someone screams about its era heh, But yes even though my stats are rubbish for it the Cyclone class PB is just garbage & I’ve got a sneaky suspicion its BR placement was down to the older weaker ship DM’s back when it was added an the devs overestimated how the M252 Bushmasters would handle.

But atm I could imo easily see it at 3.0 at the lowest over its current daft BR, But than again that’s most of the Cost’all/Bluewater+ TT BR’s, all being rubbish especially above 2.7.

With the guns terrible range and the AI Aimbots shooting into the water 75% of the time, the boat is near useless. By the time the AI stops acting stupid the guns are overheated or empty

I dont play naval rb or coastal much but i dont think ive seen a single one of those in battle. The kim qui is objectively better and it sits at rank 3. A full FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND less rp reguired to get a better experience out of naval.

I’ve found that there’s no point at all playing above 3.0 for US coastal

The USS Cyclone is a perfect example of why the technological era of a vehicle doesn’t sometimes matter in War Thunder.

This an older topic. But I’ve recently spaded the Cyclone at 3.3 and it wasn’t too bad. Its magazine being in the superstrucure was rather painful but it’s otherwise decently survivable. The bushmasters aren’t the greatest but with the apds belts you can quite reliable ammorack most coastals. Sure they don’t have the raw damage of a bofors but they’re okay. As long as you don’t have to use the awful low velocity default or he belt.

In the end I actually quite enjoyed it in my 3.3 coastal lineup.

Quite the opposite, if you face any other 3.0+ coastal player, you’re dead.

It’s out gunned by any coastal at it’s br range;
It’s cannons overheat easly;
It’s very easy to kill;
It’s Stinger SAMs were removed;

Critical question: Why is the USS Cyclone this way for years and the Bernau not?
It has 6 25mm guns;
It has SAMs;

Cyclone never had sams in game. And I have played about 50 games in it, the guns are not that terrible, Its ammo placement is its biggest downfall survivability wise but other than that it’s not bad either.

I didn’t have many issues with overheating either. At close range you can snipe ammo racks fast enough for it to not be too problematic in my experience. At longer ranges it does lack the accuracy somewhat. But I guess I must’ve been lucky with most maps allowing me to get in fairly close.

Over the past few weeks spading it, it really hasn’t been that bad, I’ve played plenty of coastals worse than it

I not said it had SAM removed in game, I meant, in my broken english way, IRL it has SAMs but they didn’t added.
