Can’t say anything about tanks since I know nothing about them, but Russia has a lot of stuff from the early 90s that is much better than the relatively cheap upgrade programs also called Su-27SM and MiG-29SMT. For example the MiG-29M is from 1991 and whipes the floor with the SMT in all aspects apart from radar range
Hellfire on the AH-64D is pre-1995, maybe as early as 1982
F-15 MSIP II uses Aim-120As (1991) and Aim-9M (1983)
I have no idea what shell the Abrams uses of the top of my head nor when it entered service, but fairly certain it does use a much earlier shell than that from 2008. Could be as early as something like L27A1 which is like 1990s.
AGR-20 might be the ONLY NATO weapon from this centuary, I cant think of any others that are newer.
Meanwhile something like KH-38 I think is more like 2012 (which i assume is the weapon he is complaining about)
If the game was balanced by era not performance, you would be facing things like Brimstones 2s with 60km FnF capabilities and aircraft that could carry as many as 18 of them. But instead, you only have to deal with aircraft with AGM-65 and an effective of maybe 10-15km
i doesnt they both have scencially the same seeker just a longer lunch range, you can see that on the spread sheet, they all have a “lock-on from all aspect” of 12 km like the agm 65b, but thats is basically on the ideal scenario you wont be getting a “track” under 8km.
And the Su-27SM is using the R-73 (1984) and R-77 (1990)
Current ammunition is 829A2 from 1994, with its proper ammunition being 829A3 from 2002.
I’d be all for this being added if more mid-2000s Russian tanks were added.
We skipped straight from a glorified 1993 vehicle (T-90A) at 10.7 to a 2016 upgrade of the 1990’s T-72BA (T-72B3 ['11-'16]).
No T-72BA1 (10.7 with decomp, 10.3 as current), no T-72B2 (11.3/11.7 depending on state of other vehicles), not even interesting variants like the T-72AG/UMG (1997, could be 10.7/11.0), T-72UA (10.3 with decomp), T-72BM2 (11.7, effectively making the T-72B3 what it should have been with the B2), so on.
There are FAR more T-80 variants to add, as well as fixing the T-80B and T-80U variants as they are in-game.
With literally 90% of the vehicles I just listed, M829A3 would be perfectly balanced.
The only reason why it wouldn’t be is because there are TWO vehicles with Relikt at top tier in-game.
