Nope, It’s been mentioned before in articles on the old forums, you can even find your own rank(average relative position) and “PvP rating” in your leaderboard tab, in the lower right of the stats tab of your player card.
I’ve said it in other threads about this repetitive topic:
NO.
SBMM has led the FPS shooter scene into a wasteland, let alone the pvp experience across the gaming industry.
Name a single content creator or dedicated player of the games you mentioned who enjoys SBMM.
Spoiler: no one does. Even Call of Duty has recently gave up on SBMM in a desperate attempt to make the game funnier.
Not every game must be a sweat display, even if top tier sometimes feels like it.
So never improving your skills and wallowing in your own mediocrity, queue times being even longer in normal game modes, more people leaving and never coming back because normal people is ok in your book.
its TIGER_TANK_1, of course its intentional.
There is a lot of good for SBMM, it makes a PVP what it is supposed to be a PVP.
War thunder doesn’t do SBMM because of the fear they lose on unbalanced gameplay. I agree if it were up to me ALL games should have SBMM that consider themselves PVP because of the seal clubbers and streamers clubbing low BRs.
Overall, Gajin needs unbalanced gameplay to fuel player dopamine where it is unfair and allows people to get a hit of greatness every now and then. In my opinion it doesn’t matter how good you are or what your stats are play like a scum bag and you will have the best stats in game. What that looks like just go forth squad up with good players, share comms, and gajin will never stop you from going up against solos because like triple games there is no “solo gameplay” where squads are not allowed.
My opinion is it should because games can get so unbalanced it doesn’t even matter cause you can run software like WoT and seeing if your team sucks and leave after your first death.
Final thought, if you’re struggling just keep dropping BR you might get seal clubbers but you will develop better in the game. The shiny new tank unlock is not worth your mental health. Games is honestly a mental health crisis that will get light when politicians don’t get any other things to go against.
Tiger_Tank_1 is the type of person to only bomb bases with typhoon. Theres no struggling here that is not self-made.
SBMM for WT is just annoying, if you ever get mixed battles at top tier where both sides are just filled up with squaded up players, that match is just ultra sweaty.
Yes there are possible advantages of better players on your team that have braincells in double digits but the negative is that youll be fighting the most sweaty tryhards every single match.
Only good thing i can see this would do is that the people that play lower BRs with busted planes and tanks to seal club would be facing the same type of seal clubbers on the opposing team. Otherwise SBMM is just a worthless addition
I love how people describe players that actually try to win „sweaty tryhards”
One question that comes to mind is how you would balance the stock grind with an SBMM system if you are a good player, since it would make stock grinding tanks a living hell. And don’t get me started on top-tier planes, where you would get smoked if you are a good player and suddenly find yourself in a plane with no chaff, no missiles (or very few), and poor flight performance. Because you performed well in your fully spaded plane, you would essentially be forced to feed yourself to the enemy just to lower your rating and end up fighting players you can actually compete against in your stock jet.
The idea of SBMM could only work in a game mode that forces players to use fully spaded vehicles, perhaps in a competitive mode. In regular modes, it would create more problems than it would solve.
This is the only way it works, y’know like a ranked mode, but this ain’t Siege or CS GO
Well if you are in the top % of players even with a stock tank you can have good games which would help you spade it,…
I am playing this game for over 13+ years Im not good not that bad but still in some games I get dominated like hell by squads of players from top tier squadrons… my team gets decimated it is not fun and usualy ends up in us losing without anything… aint fun but you see more and more of this …
SBMM would be much better and stock grinding would not change that much for us mediocre players which is the majority
Or the main issue of needing dozens, if not thousands, of separate ELO. Depends on if you break it down by game mode, br set, nation, vehicle type, vehicle, etc.
It would also most likely have the secondary impact of causing some form of forcing people to stay in matches because a rather vocal group of people will yell constantly about how people leaving matches will tank their personal ELO.
I hope SBMM will never be introduced into this game and i’m pretty confident it wont.
Also it would literally make the least difference for bad/average players (the majority) because they still play like headless chickens against other headless chickens, they just tell themselves it’s the better players ruining their games.
But for people like me, which are pretty decent, but definitely not “pro” players it would just suck. Because we would just get sucked in as fillers into the very unpopulated lobbies with people who play for their lifes.
Also this would probably increase queue times, so thats a big no for Gaijin anyway.
So no, thank you.
This is the main reason I stopped playing mainstream shooters ngl
Knowing how egocentric this community can be, a competitive mode where players can earn rewards such as a banner or profile picture showing the rank they have reached, plus maybe some special decal could help boost the competitive scene in War Thunder. (if there is something to boost)
People love to stat shame so they would love to show the rest of the lobby how good they are at the game.
The only problem would be the insane number of cheaters. There are already many of them without a competitive mode, so adding one would likely turn competitive lobbies into a cheater fest. However, it might help clean up the normal game modes.
