It’s kinda insane that its 2026 and of the official subtrees, none of them have a coastal or bluewater unit yet.
Meanwhile “gap fillers” Canada and Australia have 4 vessels each + South Vietnam, Ireland and Egypt all have 1 each (this is not a complaint about any of them being added, I would love to see more of them, it’s more surprising that the latter three all got a naval vessel before some of the oldest subtrees).
Sure I can understand some like Switzerland not really having many options or Finland+Norway lacking their hosts naval tree but I find hard to believe that other subtrees such as Hungary, Thailand, Belgium or the Netherlands have nothing to offer.
To be honest, while it would be great to have ships from certain sub-trees, I’d prefer to see the main trees properly completed first.
If I take the French tree as an example, I’d find it particularly frustrating if the focus were on adding ships from the Benelux countries (though I wouldn’t oppose a future addition) when we haven’t even scratched the surface of what can be added to the French tree.
Oh for sure, I can understand that. I just find it odd since most of the naval trees are still only 2 rows (barring UK+USA bluewater and USA+Germany+USSR coastal).
Maybe lack of top rank naval vessel would prevent from all nation having 3 rows.
France literally none have left, Italy can only have Impero but this would be rather on event imo.
USSR also has only very rare possibility of Soyuz’s sister ship(consideration of Sovetskaya Rossiya change into Project 23NU was discussed but not put on serious act)
There are still Vittorio Veneto and Impero for Italy, one can be a premium, another maybe regular.
Plus we haven’t really entered missiles ships territory yet, which will probably be both in Coastal and Bluewater trees.
You can easily build the third line for Italy (using late pre-dreadnoughts and armored cruisers) and maybe even fourth if Gaijin desides to add A-H vessels to Italy, but that one wouldn’t have a top for sure.
Plus submarines are under question, it’s still not clear where they would place them.
The point was more so was despite all the current subtrees (Barring Switzerland and Luxembourg) have at the very least some nice coastal and bluewater vessels that could bulk additional lines in a tree.
Probably a low priority/small playerbase is the reason. I would love to see some Romanian and Hungarian additions, especially to Coastal tree.
But considering we still can’t even get Letuchiy original version or her sistership under Romanian flag I guess Gaijin doesn’t have any plans for that.
Not too sure about Project 23NU, I’d expect Sovetskaya Ukraina to cap the Stalingrad line, since some of those ships were built at the same shipyard so would make sense.
I’m doubt on that because Sovetskaya Ukraina doesn’t have design difference with Sovetsky Soyuz. Gaijin only implements two ship of same unifnished class if they have design difference
Thank you for linking my tech tree! Honestly there are so many Romanian coastal boats I’ve found since then that it could be an entire tech tree of its own. I’m doing work on another suggestion right now, but once that is done I’ll be finishing work (or at least continuing) to add some more. There’s one I wish I could add but no photographs of it seem to exist. It’d be a great Rank 1 boat, but I can’t suggest it without at least one image. Nevertheless, I have at least three boats still to suggest, with one having multiple configurations that could be added as separate ships, so I’ll probably incorporate that into the tree somehow.
