Why the 2S38 is in 10.3 but the HSTV-L is in 12.0

Gotta stop caring (or even looking) at player levels. They are meaningless.

only 1000 battles won

Huh?

It doesn’t matter. If you really want to stat shame you should look at Thunder Skill or Statshark. But I will share with you and everyone else, that stat shaming is frowned upon by the mods on these forums. It is technically against the rules on the forums, but typically isn’t strongly enforced unless a user is “stat shaming” to be insulting. IF another player gives their approval to post their stats, it’s fair game. And/or if a player posts their own stats, etc.

Point still stands, looking at the level, kills, wins, K/D, Statshark numbers of another player who killed you wastes time. You are better off spawning back in and playing more. The more you dig into another player’s stats, the less time you spend in matches grinding.

I’m not using it in a insulting way though. I was just saying how even low levels who can be possibly new to the game can still get kills with the 2S38. Because you said you needed skill to actually get kills in the 2S38

Oh that wasn’t me 😉 I do have the 2S38 however, and have been playing since 2014. I pretty much only play Arcade modes, so not much point in using my RB stats as “evidence”. But please feel free to look up my stats for the 2S38 if you wish 👍

Oh well. Still, the point still stands that I only brought stats into play because of that guys comment

2s38 has -5, strf 9040 has -8. 224 pen vs 170. Both are large vehicles. infinite ammo rack vs 24 rounds. And the 2s38 is significantly faster with an unmanned turret vs 2/3 crew turret. every stat except depression the 2s38 wins.

The tank sits in the best br block in the entire game, russian 10.3. Many top quality tanks, lots of nations with 9.3s, tons of premiums. Both france and brits had their top teir br blocks broken up despite no individual tank having amazing kdr stats. Its time to break up russian 10.3.

HSTVL has notably more penetration, and is double in mobility.

@Hetaeron OTOMATIC is a false equivalence fallacy.
OTOMATIC is a search-radar SPAA with a round that pens 70% more as a backup.
2S38 is an auto-light.

Derivatsiya-PVO is classed in Russian service a Self Propelled Anti Aircraft gun no idea why its not classed as that in game, its role would be similar to that of the OTOMATIC anyway.

That would buff the 2S38 if it was classed as a SPAA.

man, shut up! I dont want that about you, the strv 9040c gets nerved by br

Perhaps you haven’t noticed, but the entire Warthunder community agrees that it should be classified as SPAA provided that:

  1. Removeits scouting capability; it is an SPAA, not a scout vehicle.
  2. Bring it to 2s38 at BR 11.3.

Once this change has been made, all players will be happy. Players will be happy those who say that putting it as SPAA makes it stronger. Players will be happy those who don’t want this vehicle at BR 10.3 but rightly want it at BR 11.3.

Nah, none of the ones you mentioned are even remotely as broken or overpowered as the Russian 2s38 ones. There are too many small things that add up to be clearly Russian bias. The selective and arbitrary nature of which sources they allow for bug reports, the requirement to spend GE or a ludicrous amount of time to get an equivalent reload to a bone stock Russian MBT at top tier if you don’t have an autoloader, the majority of maps being CSGO style flat maps with no way for NATO tanks to hide their hull, the placement of the LRF at rank 4 on most NATO MBTs, while it’s at rank 2 for most Russian ones, the constant addition of entirely busted or at minimum very meta premiums to Russia’s 10.3 lineup (they even tried to do it with the BMPT), Gaijin’s refusal to do composite armor correctly meaning that most NATO vehicles that IRL are designed to withstand Russian 30mm just get shredded by even 14.5 and fifty cal, the refusal to add features like IRST to vehicles such as the CV90s (which it essentially has IRL) despite every Russian IFV having it, Russia having by far the best SPAAs at most BRs until the very top (where they had the Pantsir that dominated for an extremely long time), and more. There is absolutely premium bias, but there is most certainly also Russian bias.

The T58 had better stats than the BMPT-72 ever has and ever will.
The 2S38 is worse for its BR than the Turm III is for its own BR, but both should go up.
The Somua is better than the 8.0 Char25T.
The Pzh2000 should be 8.3, along with the Vidar.

And if we want talk about P2W premium aircraft, you need to mention the ariete in air sim. There’s also formerly the XP-50, Ju-288, and the F-89 with guns.
The 13.3 Su-30s are ridiculous at 13.3, and need to be 13.7.

OP premiums aren’t exclusive to Russia, and they don’t even have the most OP ones.

If you haven’t upgraded your crews even slightly that’s on you. Top tier Russian MBTs didn’t even have a reload increase greater than 0.1 seconds either.

Germany is better in that regard. America also has the best 8.0-9.0 SPAAs too, and even a radar guided one at 7.3.

For the record, nobody cares about the acceleration, top speed, reverse speed or even gun depression.

Because top tier games always end the same : you’re getting spawnkilled in less than 35 seconds.

So no, the 2S38 is not balanced. Less gun depression, less speed is not a balance equivalence of penetration / armor / reload speed
