In the stat card, it says that the repair cost of the vehicle will increase as time you play, but I had to pay the full repair cost even though I had only played for 3 minutes. If you calculate according to what the gaijin said, I would have to survive for 11 minutes to pay the full repair cost as the gaijin said.

If you J out, regardless of how much time has passed, you still get the full cost.
But you can still have a fully damaged plane, but you only pay a fraction of the repair cost if you die early.
Like Shay said, you pay the full repair cost if you J out of your plane before you die.
