Why People Hates Naval Battles? : Lets Find Reason

Summery :

Hello guys.
I’ve played Naval for 2,000 hours on my other test accounts and unlocked everything in three countries and I noticed that there are almost always 50 people playing naval battles, and for almost two years we played the same battles with the same people, lol.

Short :

Naval battles really feel like torture at first, but once you get used to them, they’re great the arcade, realistic, and sim modes are all fantastic the only problem is that there are too many people, the map is way too big, and there aren’t enough places to hide the biggest issue I’ve faced is when I’m all the way on the left or right, and suddenly seven warships and a small torpedo boat come barreling toward me, and I get blown up within 20 seconds and it’s really hard to beat and knock out opponents because it takes a long time, and the matches are way too long.

My recommendations and the things I hate the most :

  • Map reduction/restructuring
  • Turret and speed enhancements, and overall gameplay speed reduction and elimination of sluggishness
  • Options to play with more or fewer players
  • Simplifying target shooting and making it easier to find
  • Making exploration easier
  • Simplifying tanks and planes in general, like an arcade game, depending on the game mode.

  • Map so much big that is unnecessary.
  • There’s nowhere to hide, bullets are coming from the ground, and everything is turning into chaos.
  • The game is way too slow, and you can only spend about 30 minutes getting anywhere; then an hour or more goes by without seeing anyone or being able to shoot anyone, and the match drags on for a long time, boring and lonely.
  • Filling engine and rotational speeds are excessively slow like Sturmtiger reload lol.

So guys, please share your experiences, thoughts, and suggestions regarding the naval, and anything else you’d like to discuss, below :)

Mostly they are boring for the average player

I think what killed it for me and possibly others was just how… how do i say this… bad the aiming system is? like the splash reticle isnt exactly accurate and it barely tells you anything, most of the time you are relying on the rangefinder. Idk man i just think that is the main issue, it just sucks to aim in naval :(. I also think that the distance marker just doesnt update fast enough? because to me its really choppy when it changes

If u got up Br-ed in ground or air at least u still have fighting chance unlike naval. Good luck using 4.3 coastal while the MM got u 5.0-5.3 cruiser or destroyer.

I play almost exclusively Arcade where games are often fast and furious, it’s difficult to hide, and in theory there plenty of variety.to suit different play styles.

Except. …

Aiming is currently bugged with some vessels having ‘easy aim’ whilst other have reverted to the ‘Leading Aim’ thanks to changes that were meant for Nuclear mode only - 1 month and still no fix! That’s just the tip of the iceberg as there are simply so many bugs, some small and irritating, others enough to drive even experienced players out the mode.

Maps are bad. BR balance on maps is poorly thought out. Spawn-Spawn shooting is often possible.

Just played a few games - torpedos though islands, shells going through ships, coastal boats tanking hits more than some destroyers, aiming torpedos switches guns from mains to secondaries…etc etc

Devs obviously can’t be bothered, and I suspect don’t even play naval, especially outside of the Big Name Battleships. Doesn’t help that they completely ignored all player feedback at the last BR balance exercise

Whats the future hold? Death is not beyond a possibility. There seems to be no effort to add anything truly new and the latest bugs and compression continues the downward spiral.

When even true naval fans consider it a chore you know it’s bad.

I have two issues with ships that i ran into boh times i tried to get into naval.

  1. aiming issues

i hop in test drive in realsitic mode, practice my gunnery for 20 minutes at different speeds, headings etc.

Once im positively sure i can hit reasonable % of each salvo onto enemy ship, i queue up for a NRB game.

I load in, sail for a while, i see enemy ship, turn so that all my guns are facing her, line up my aiming reticle, wait for firing solution to calculate, fire and

Shot is some 5km long. Like it geniunely flies off to Narnia or something.

So i think i rushed the range finding or something (even tho have max crew because i had spare crew points on my german ground crews). So i wait for recalculation, i get firing solution, i aim and

The shot is 8km long

I geniunely have no clue what might be the issue or why does my aim act this way in live game when in test drive its pretty much spot on.

And since it seems i can adjust my range manually, i loose any interest in naval for the next two years.

This is obviously more of an issue with my settings than it is with naval itself but nevertheless it is an obstacle for me.

  1. tactical aspect of the game

My first impression of the tactical part of the navak is that once you commit to certain part of map, you cant recommit according to how situation develops. Size of map +ship speed make me feel that im bound to whatever side of map i spawned on unless i die and respawn, which also massively detracts from my willingness to play naval.

Im not saying naval maps should be small, but the lack of coordination in team means that i feel the match outcome is out my hands as soon as i spawn in.

although i haven’t reached big ships yet (i’m not gonna count that Russian battle ship or whatever it is i got from a random box) but for me, its kinda the pacing, i mean, back when navy first came out it was interesting before the coastal and blue water fleets were separated into 2 different tech trees. But after that, everything else has felt kinda rushed about the game mode, not sure how to describe it, maybe if we start getting actual objectives back into the game it would feel more fleshed out, but as is right now, i feel no reason to keep playing navel as a whole right now

My biggest issue with naval is the economy of it

The barrier to entry is extremely high because you get dropped into destroyers that don’t have a lot of performance, and to climb out of that is pretty time consuming compared to ground or air.
And beyond 5.7 there is almost no incentive to use higher br ships because the reward multiplier caps out 5.7. And every ship after 5.7 gets increasingly more expensive to repair.

Beyond the economy, the battles are “fine,” but realistic battles take a decade to get into, and EC matches sometimes aren’t even available. So arcade is the only mode I can make any progress in, which is “suboptimal.”

The balance is also really out of wack too; fighting a battlecruiser in a destroyer with 4 inch guns is not fun.
Maps can be too cramped (when you only get 1-2 spawn points)
Getting to capture points is almost impossible within the time span of a match
Some maps are incredibly one sided
And of course, coastal ships are almost impossible to grind
