Why Osa is so bad

this is true. in real life it does not even have irst tracker though.

the airfield rolands are able to pull through without using prelaunch lead, and the missile sticks to 3 point guidance at all times. even with a perfect lead during maneuvering from ai this should not be possible because the missile isnt maneuverable enough to pull that hard. earlier they actually had the tech tree roland model and they were trash despite ai lead

I don’t , but can probably easily get one the next time I play. Happened most matches. Anytime I tried to climb within 8-10km of the battlefield, i was shot at and rarely survived.

I have been killed by a Pantsir when flying the Gripen has to have been 15km away from the battlefield whilst I was in a dogfight Vs an F-16

I typically operate on a 15-20km death sphere if there is an S1 ping and it keeps me fairly safe. if I’m closer than that to the battlefield, I’m either ensuring I’m actively defending or flying laterally

I have a keybind and it comes in pretty handy.
When someone is in gun range I’ll use radar as well, otherwise my radar is off and have IRST set up.

Just checked, it does have a TV contrast tracker.

the Osa is only a radar missile not TV

It does have a TV track.
Radar

TV

it has a camera for viewing the target, the 9Sh38-2 TOV and while it is called the tracking camera, it does not optically lock a target, you track the target through the camera and manually move your sight on the target for engagement

It is supposed to track the target using “angular coordinates” So a centroid tracker.

Please do clip it next time as I’d like to see a plane getting killed by 2S6 from that far out.
As most people in here have stated, even drones that far out can get challenging.

I like that term lol.
Watch some YT clips, there are people dodging Pantsirs from 10km out while using Brimstones.

where did you get information to this from? i havent found such for the osa ak or akm

yeah it’s the irst mode that no tv

going to have to read through it. in some cases they call it a tracking camera despite there not being a function in panel to engage this tracking as it would be done manually by moving the sight.

it just says IRST, as there is no separate test for TV track in the radar display

the angular tracking probably refers to the concept of tracking vertical and horizontal angles manually through the camera. what page did you find it on?

i guess after translating it a bunch of times in a bunch of different places, it seems like it might not be a centroid tracker, but a simple crosshair used to track it manually

just the problem of what is lost in translation.

yes, i have had trouble translating files too. i feel like they have added the irst tracker for balance reasons and i personally wouldnt object to it being there.

nah, that would be reportable

what could happen is “reported as suggestion”. i made a report for the roland being low smoke after initial launch with good sources and they said it is also a suggestion despite low smoke motors being in the game now. But i agree, it is reportable.
